Battlefield 3 demo on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon will be PS3 gameplay

I'll be remembering this for the next time someone says consoles are nearly as capable as PCs. All because some developers don't wanna put work into the PC version.

the devs are like the 3rd act to go on/ right before the music guest....the episode was pretty chessy as well

so probably like a 15 min wait...it's the mission we all saw in the first trailer of BF3...the one where the rpg blows up by the car and your next to it

of course consoles aren't.

but to discredit games like Uncharted 3 and God Of War 3 would be unfair. even on PCs, you don't get those kinds of games. even if PCs are capable of running UC3 and GoW3, those games are not on PC, and you can't really find something similar to those.

On a side note, the band after the showing was positively unique :P

The graphics of the game don't look too impressive though on the PS3. Hopefully it'll be more optimized once it is released.

LOL the recent Tomb Raider games do not even come close to the Uncharted series. and GoW3 is an action-adventure game. it's not combat-focused like DMC4. it's got platforming and puzzles and a ton of figuring out, secret areas, etc. DMC almost have zero of those. so, not really similar. God Of War is much more similar to Soul Reaver, Legacy of Kain series, etc.

what im saying by similar is not just by genre, but by quality. same thing why i went to PS3 this gen (well, i had a PS1 and a PC, and i never had a PS2 dont shoot me) was because games like UC3, GoW3, MGS4, etc. are my kind of games. i rarely play WRPGs cause i barely have time, and indie games are great but PS3 exclusives have polish in them. plus the ease of use. i can just turn it on, insert the disc, and i know it will work. no time spent on updating drivers, checking to see if my graphics card is still compatible, no compatibility issues, etc.

i was a PC gamer back then and god sometimes some games are just terrible when it comes to installing and using patches and whatnot. the pain of whenever you used the wrong mod you'd have to reinstall the damn game again, etc. no more tinkering on what's better to turn off, vsync or triple buffering or aa or whatever for a boost in performance. you get a ton of flexibility on PCs, but of course there's always a tradeoff.

if i have survived gaming since the 8-bit era, played Spear of destiny (Wolfenstein prequel) on a CTR monitor, played the green-coloured screen of the original Gameboy, a few missing pixels and no AA on the PS3 is not a big deal.

on a side note, i actually think they're using MLAA on the PS3.

I think MW3 looks better on consoles, or at least more pleasing for me in it's current state. BF3 is probably doing more under the hood though. The destuction still looks great. The models, textures, and animations seem to be scaled down from the PC version (ran on a GTX 580 :o).

It's still early, so we'll see eventually. Nothing will touch the PC version most likely (better than Crysis 2?).
