Hmm, interesting. I didn't think they would go back to plain BF so soon, especially when you have loads of BF history to mine for sequels. Battlefield 2143, Battlefield: Bad Company 3, Battlefield 1944, etc. Doesn't seem fitting for them to go back, but its not confirmed and I love Battlefield's modern setting the best. Hopefully with the engine fully optimized and their work on BF3 and criticism and input from fans, BF4 can have everything we wanted, all the stuff we got in the DLC, all the modes, battlerecorder, and maybe ditch the campaign or give us one worth playing (which the BC series did well).

Yup. I remembered how polished 2142 was compared to BF2 back then, BF2 is full of bugs when it was released and they fixed it in 2142, sadly it doesn't have much fanbase because the game released directly after BF2.

They should release 2143 with all the update and features added on BF3, I would definitely wanna play that...

Won't be buying. Battlefield 3 has got to be in the top three most dissapointing games of this generation for me, and I loved Bad Company 2.

It's just a really good trolling job by somebody.

Nobody else posted a picture of it being in Origin or on their website. Instead everybody just posted pictures of what it currently says.

Even if it is true it doesn't matter, 2 years of development time on a mature engine is mroe than enough to make a full game. For all of the whining here, CoD seems to still get consistently high scores and massive sales, same with Assassin's Creed.

I guess it doesn't matter. I enjoy the hell out of BF3 and I will probably buy BF4 if it is released. However, there was a rumor that BC3 was in development, I was under the assumption that they were going to announce that early next year for their 2013 shooter and then BF4 would make 2014.

I just realized, there has been a Battlefield or a content patch for Battlefield every year since 2002. I guess this shouldn't be a shock.

It just took from 2005-2011 for a "main" Battlefield game because DICE worked on BF2142, Bad Company, BF 1943, and Bad Company 2 before decideing to roll back.

Technically each CoD game has 2 years inbetween as well. That's why they have so many studios pumping out CoD games.

Black Ops 2 looks to be the first that is introducing some real gameplay changers too.

Actually yeah, hearing about it early is more of the surprise. When you hear about it now and the game release last year feels early but it's not when you consider when it actually releases

I'm just mad cause the Gaps between Games is startling.

Also COD games come out every year because Activision has like 2 companies that work on the Franchise and alternate each year.

Battlefield shouldn't be a game like COD. It should be a Game where years later there has been so much support a New Game should be a celebration that a new era has come. Not "Oh it's just another game."
