A modern millitary shooter at that. For such a unfathomably milked sub-genre, it's a miracle that there are still games getting positive feedback.

8 is still great but imo Battlefield series for me ended with BF2. I enjoyed BF3 for about 1-2 months but it couldnt draw me back to playing it unlike BF2 where as i still play it from time to time

The only bad points I can tell are the singleplayer (which no one cares about really) and the game seems to be a very small advancement from BF3. The thing I dislike about BF now-a-days is the premium shit and all the expansion packs queued up for release that have content already made. If BF was still a PC only game, it probably wouldn't have this premium bullshit. It would have fan-made maps again and even full-scale mods. In the ideal world I dream of an EA-free Battlefield, made for PC and available on Steam, supported by Valve and making use of things like the Steam foundry.

It flopped? Did people really hype it above a 8? If not, then learn what flop actually means.

Not a bad score, but I think I'm going to take a break from the modern military shooters and skip this game and COD Ghosts.

Meh, the beta completely turned me off BF4. But I'm still getting it because I hated BF3 at the start as well and now its like my favourite.

This using "flop" anytime, anywhere is the new thing here it seems.

Yeah exactly, 8 isn't a bad score. It'll do considering both BF and CoD will be taking a backseat anyone next spring once Titanfall comes around

(well not for cows, they'll be stuck with BF and CoD but for everyone else ...)

I heard in one review Black flag is 2nd best AC game, Brotherhood is the best one. So yeah this sounds good, Ubisoft saves the day again:D

@Telekill: No. An 8 is a great score. A 7 is even a good score. Don't let internet armchair critics convince you that a game needs to be over a 9 to be good.

BF4 is great for what it does, but what it does has become very tired over the years. It's arguably the best Battlefield yet, but since 2005 the Battlefield series has almost exclusively been in modern times (with some exceptions), CoD has been in modern times since 2007, and Medal of Honor has been in modern times since 2010. The modern military shooter is just tired and since Battlefield 4 is only a major refinement on existing ideas, there is nothing really AAA score worthy about it.

If you enjoyed Battlefield 3 or want a good shooter, you can't go wrong with BF4.
