Think about it this way. All the information on BF4 released thus far has been a few videos from Dice themselves and some videos from major websites. And now we dont get a review until less than an hour before the game releases? I call bologna. They could have them out sooner if Dice allowed it. Hope this type of thing doesn't become the norm.

Thing is, Dice know they have a captive audience who will pre order the game based on name alone. No matter how confident they are in their game, it would be a unnecessary risk to lift the embargo too far in advance of the release in case reviews scare away people who pre-ordered the game.

It makes sense to lift the embargo really early for a unhyped game or a new IP to drum up hype before release, but with a franchise like BF it makes no sense at all.

I can see people cancelling orders already for both systems. Neither is 1080P native. Not good at all for EA or DICE.

People who pre-order know they're taking a risk. I'm not going to feel sorry for them if the game they pre-order turns out to be sh*t.

Release day embargoes are becoming the norm. Just like demos, early reviews seem to hurt sales. Publishers protect the game preorders if they keep the review till the last minute

The only people who play Battlefield games are Battlefield fans. Everyone else tells their friends to wait for COD Ghosts which is going to be way better, obviously.

Think an average BF4 player cares about that?

I highly doubt the majority of BF4 audience is comprised of people who know, or care about resolution.

It's called a review embargo. Most major AAA titles have some sort of an embargo that makes reviewers wait until a few days before or the launch of the game to release their reviews.
