The first Battlefield 6 gameplay videos have leaked online from the game’s ongoing pre-alpha closed testing program.

The first of EA’s ‘Battlefield Labs’ testing sessions kicked off this weekend, and despite users being sworn to secrecy, a significant amount of game footage has inevitably made its way online.

EA is taking a more transparent approach to the development of the next Battlefield, following significant community disappointment around the last instalment, 2042.

Initial Battlefield 6 tests will focus on the game’s core pillars, like combat and destruction, and later transition to balance and feedback for weapons, vehicles and gadgets, before moving on to maps, modes, and squad play.

Players can register now for the chance to participate, with initial invites set to be distributed to a few thousand players in Europe and North America. Over time, EA plans to open testing up to other territories and tens of thousands more users.

Four internal EA studios, which the publisher collectively refers to as Battlefield Studios, are building a connected universe set in the modern day.

Oh snap, are you excited for this iteration of Battlefield 6, SW? It looks promising.

Never could get into the Battlefield games, Call of Duty is more my jam. Will probably pass on this one as well.

Honestly I hope they keep it simple and straightforward.

• No characters, personalities, etc. I want classes, not...some dude in pink with "tacticool" gear that has bunny-ear headphones on or some shit. In fact, don't even name the people. Just have "This is body type 1 with face type 4 and skin color 3".
• Make it as "mil-sim" as possible while still being accessible. They don't need to make it like ArmA or Hell Let Loose, but there's a lot of fun, realism-adjacent stuff in many of those games that would translate it well. Buildable fortifications and gun emplacements, a more in-depth health and injury system, the ability to help feed bullet belts to your machine gunners, etc.
• Don't make it "influencer friendly". I don't need a game that's going to have a bunch of "cool" stuff that looks good for people to watch someone else play; I want a game that's just fun fun fun.
• No. Fucking. Battle. Royale. So so so sick of this game mode.
• No portal mode or whatever the hell it was they added in.
• In fact, keep the game variations limited so the community doesn't get fragmented into a million different directions.

  • TDM
  • Rush
  • ...that's it.

Oh, and bring back a "titan mode" or equivalent 😁

Honestly I would settle for a remake of Bad Company 2, or some sort of grand "remake-meets-compilation" of Battlefield 2-4.

I'll wait and see how EA fucks it up.

I've been looking at them since yesterday. Saw a video that showed classes will have perks. Saw a perk in the support that will let the medic drag down players faster to cover to revive them. Engineer will have a suicide drone bomb. Edit- here's the video.

Zero faith in EA after the absolute dogshit BF2042 at launch.

Looks like Battlefield 3 and 4 but still not getting excited for that game.

Already looks better than 2042, but I'm still keeping a healthy dose of skepticism.

Have to say they turned 2042 around. Not completely - no server browser is insane - but from where they game was? I have a lot of fun playing it nowadays.

To think that a MP game launched without a scoreboard or comms.
