battlefield bad company 2, did it live up to the name mw2 killer?

So I haven't picked up BFBC2 and I wanted to know from you guys if it was truly the MW2 killer if it was or wasn't leave a comment belowing for your reason thanks :) I put it here in the system wars because I wanted the views of all consoles

Yes, but nothing will live up to Call of Duty 4 until maybe the next gen. That game was to epic, against MW2 though, yes it beats MW2. But not MW1.

Oh yes, with it's infinitely respawning enemies, wretched level design, and glitchy multiplayer: it's a classic!

Even though MW1 is much, much better than MW2, I wouldn't call it the best this gen.

I don't believe in games 'killing' other games, but yes BC2 is a much better game than modern warfare 2.

Hmm... yea Im sure most people on this forum will like BFBC2 more then MW2, without a doubt.

But BFBC2 wont come close to MW2 sales, so I dont understand how it can "kill" it. MW2 will be the more "successful" game. They appear to be similarily critically acclaimed (MW2 having the slight edge so far). So other than a bunch of personal preferences, no, it has not, and will not, kill MW2.

I haven't played it yet but I certainly will.

COD4's campaign, albeit short, was just a stellar experience on that first play through. There were so many amazing moments and the voice acting was superb as was the presentation. I loved bits where, for instance, you're about to break into the TV station and that voice on the radio just says, "DO IT!" and they blow open the door. It was full of stuff like that which I loved.

I don't think it will ever sell as much as MW2 did, but BC2 is the better game. The developers actually cared about making it, they didn't copy and paste. Also there's no new glitch every 10 seconds.

in my opinion this is the Modern Warfare 2's killer.

I like both, i own both. but Bad Company 2's destructable environment, vehicles, and classes are what keeps me going. plus the excellent sound design.

I could care less. I'm getting the PS3 version over the 360 simply because I'm only online on PSN. And I don't game often enough online to warrant a $50+ year subscription on XBL.With PSN I could play online whenever I want to and whenever I'm free, without feeling obligated to fullfill a paid subscription service in XBL.

Not knocking on XBL, it does have it's cool perks. I just prefer PSN. :)

Played the demo and it was so boring, I entered a random squad, one guy stayed at our spawn while we were so supposed to attack, and the other guy kept dying, so I was forced to run for 10 minutes into random houses where people were camping.

So then I die and have to run another 10 minutes just to find someone. My teammates weren't planting the bombs or whatever they were doing, and it was dumb. Some guy sat near the house with a LMG near the objective and it was really dumb.

At least theres always action in Mw2.

I agree about spawning in MW2, how terrible it is you spawn and die, you spawn in front of a guy, but as long as it's not constant, I'd take that over spawning and having to run 5 miles to reach civilization.

It killed MW2 in that I will probably never play it again. Bad Company 2 exceeded the hype for me.

i thin kit is. i find it more enjoyable and more fun. only downside is the maps are to big when there is a few amount of players

imo BFBC2 is much better than MW2 the problem is the people that play MW2 are vastly different to the people that play BC2. MW2 is more of a solo twitch FPS while BFBC2 is a much more tactical team focused game. Playing BFBC2 was a bunch of friends coordinating what do is an absolute blast for me but other might not care much for it.

I believe it is. It is much much more fun and addicting for me. But every game I've played in so far, my team is made up of some sorry ex MW players I suppose that just want to run and gun and never take care of the flippin objectives. Makes me so mad -.-

I enjoyed BC 2s campaign a bit more. MW 2 was more Rediculous though.

In terms of multiplayer, its certainly a hell of a lot more fun to play than getting dual-shotgun'd from afar.

I don't understand why when they do these comparisons they don't just tinker with their brightness and their contrast. That's just ridiculous. I mean you can change it in the game options.

But still according to those pics the 360 version is mildly betteron 360 for other reasons. Most notably the draw distance on that first pic..
