Eh. Not really into it, but for those of you who were looking forward to it, I guess it turned out to be a good game after all.

The beta was just flat out awful.
After the crap fest that was BF4....not gonna get screwed into buying another BF game at launch.

The beta was fantastic. I had no plans to even touch Hardline but after spending time some with it, I already have it pre-ordered.
I think it's perfect for people who enjoyed Battlefield but needed a little bit of freshness injected into it.
is it just me or EA transforming (downgrading would be a better word) BF into MoH? I knew Hardline would be garbage but a 7/10 is NOT what a proper BF should ever score. What's next? In 3-4 years they'll abandon BF like they abandoned MoH and focus on Battlefront? This is ridiculous because i want a quality BF game like BC2.
7/10 isn't a bad score, especially for people like myself who are primarily in it for the MP, I can overlook a weak sauce SP campaign. COD has been getting away with it for years.
What I'm not a fan though is the Battlefield Premium, basically the equivalent of a season pass that's twice overpriced. I only feel they get away with it since COD Elite membership is like $50/year.
Well crap...after watching the review the game actually seems to be quite interesting to say the least.
Now I want this game and it's not in the gaming budget.
Dammit....now I gotta work shit out so I can get this game.

Seems like the biggest complaints in the review lay with the singleplayer. Maybe if they just nixed these lackluster SP campaigns, focused entirely on MP, and sold it for $40 instead it'd be a lot more appealing to reviewers.

Thats fucking genius.
I'd buy that.
7 isn't goood.........
Much deserved. Gimped Battlefield for full price and still season pass, yuck.
After playing the beta I would still go in with the impression that a 7 is way too high for the game.
Regardless Battlefield 4 is covering my Battlefield needs just fine, I'll wait till Dice's next multiplayer game as opposed to playing a bullshit add on by the dead space scrubs.
Battlefield use to be a 90 metacritic landmark title.
To be fair how many times can you remake the same game and always expect it to do as well as the previous iterations?
ALSO...
2142 (80/100)
1943 (83/100)
Battlefield Vietnam (84/100)
1942: Weapons of WW2 (79/100)
The bar for 90+ scores never was really there. For every great BF title there was also a lesser Battlefield title or expansion. It's just following the pattern.
Gamespot once again not learning from mistakes, why release the review now that the servers have not been stressed? Expect major problems as usual.
Lol Hardline, the $60 mod.

This. I bought BF4 over a year ago (with my PS4) and I barely ever touched it. I think I only played it two or three times, because I had so many other multiplayer games I was playing more. I regretted wasting my money. I didnt care in the slightest for this game until the second beta last month, but the beta breathed new freshness into the franchise for me. I've been playing BF4 every day since it ended actually.
Getting this game reguardless of the reviews.

Why not just hold off and enjoy BF4 while it's fresh to you then? BF4 seems to ultimately be the more feature rich game at this point, and by the time you've had your fill I'm sure Hardline will have dropped in price. I want Hardline as well but I'm still hopelessly addicted to BF4 and I've got well over 500 hours logged into it. I can't imagine truly getting enraptured with more than one deeply competitive FPS at a time.

I did everything BF4 had to offer a long time ago. There are so many aspects of BF Hardline that honestly make the experience much more enjoyable (such as a vastly improved melee system). I agree that it's still worth checking out BF4 if you haven't already played it a lot like I have.
Oh well, all I know is that I'm having a great time with it. For one it runs a lot smoother online. I didn't really enjoy the beta......but loving the full release, hotwire is great....the modes are different enough and the single player campaign is actually pretty cool.
@GrenadeLauncher: Will this be the one thing we agree on this year? Let's keep track.
I am on the fence for this game but I'm going to watch the review and try to talk myself into it. Then I might donate sperm to raise funds since my game budget looks like Obama was running it.
This isn't a comment on this review, but it is sort of sad the way Gamespot is owning up to all the over blown reviews in the past decade. Them respecting their own scale only accentuates this. And then there are even articles about where all the good console games are when you can easily look up past reviews and tell them "well mr gamespot there aren't many good console games because there are so many GREAT console games according to you guys."
...I do like Danny, though. One of the few personalities on the site and I'm not sure what his involvement was in the past.

Probably. TBH I'd rather pick up BF4 second hand at last.
$120 for the full game.
I just couldn't bring myself to push the button. I wasn't bored by the PC beta, but it didn't suck me in as much as I'd expected either.
I coulda hit the button for $99 but $120 feels wrong somehow. I'll stick to BF3.
You Australian? Or is this some stupid EA bullshit?
@foxhound_fox: I'm talking about Battlefield: Hardline Ultimate Edition that's on Origin and it cost $120.
So yeah, EA bullshit.
So, I'm a little bit at a loss here, because I enjoyed the BETA's quite a bit. Like I would have rated that experience an 8.5/10 but I imagine it would wear thin(ner) after some time.
It seems like very few people enjoyed it though... My main complaint was that the driving mechanics feel better but still bad.
I liked most of the modes they put in. Especially the Blood Money one.
The game is for sale for like $45 where I live. Kinda on the fence.
Haven't read the review yet... It's for the console version though, so it seems pointless.
I haven't played yet but I have it downloaded and ready to go on PC. I will try the PS4 version this weekend during that free trial but I'm not spending money on 900p or 720p multiplats when I can play at 1440p on PC.
7 isn't goood.........
It says good right under the big 7.
Its a marketing ploy.
7/10, 70%, 7 is bad and considered decent or average:
Not fooling anyone just good marketing, but yep it works apparently. Withing the gaming community, another term people often associate the number 7 with is mediocre which is the opposite of good.
