Still 900p...

So is 900p acceptable now? I still think it looks good and for the most part the framerate is good. This resolution pretty much confirms I'm going with PC on this one though.
Ewww. 1080p or bust. Unless it'a rock steady 60fps in any given scenario.

Edit:
Ah! So it is (mostly) a 60fps game! Nice! And for something running on jaguars, MP only (as far as I know) and multiplat it looks pretty damn great IMO. I'm sure the PC version looks better as always, but this looks very close to what we were promised IMO.
Looking good!
Still looks great, far too much motion blur when turning the camera though, makes me feel sick just watching it.
So you are not going to play this using a VR headset. ;)
I would on PC with motion blur turned off, well I'd give it a go anyway.
Graphically, it looks a generation ahead of Halo 5 which can't even maintain 1080p so taking a slight hit on res isn't that bad for a multiplat. The lowest I saw was 55fps that's isn't really that bad at all considering how fantastic the game looks. That said it's online only so no buy for me, sorry DICE you mess up with that one, next time include a single player.
900p, 40 fps, low.

I know, can't wait to see how much better the Xbox One does....
Haters gonna hate. Games are still fun to play at 900p, my goty of last year was Sunset Overdrive and the only version of it is 900p.
The minimum requirements for battlefront are already higher and more expensive to build than a current gen console, considering they get the same game, its a win.
Game looks and plays well, can't wait

I can almost guarantee it will have a more stable framerate.
Either I missed something or it didn't seem to dip below 50fps at any point, which is a great sign. I guess the move to 900p was indeed to assure the 60fps (for the most part) + current graphical quality (looks great IMO).
@nyadc: LOL, keep dreaming. Word on GAF is that the Xbone version has more framerate dips. The PS4 version runs and looks better based on what the folks there are saying.
On Topic: Nice hat they were able to get the better performance out of this than BF4. Staying steady at 60fps and only sipping bro 50fps occasionally is quite an achievement on a $400 console. Shows what can happen with an additional 2 years to optimizing their engine and dropping player count from 64 to 40. I hope he actual game even improves further on this. Will be getting this on PS4 and PC like I do for BF games. Good job DICE.

Hardline for example averaged about 5 FPS less on the PlayStation 4 than the Xbox One when demanding things were taking place, I'm assuming that will transfer to this game as well.
@nyadc: That isn't always the case no matter how badly you want to be. I can also guarantee it will be 720p which is a disgrace.
@nyadc: Hardline want made by DICE. BF4 made by DICE looked and ran better on PS4. Same will happen with Battlefront 3.
Here come the Cows saying 900p is still better than 720p. This is what you call..... deflection.
Waiiittt ... this is going to be 720p on the Xbox One? You're shitting me. What year is this?
@nyadc: That isn't always the case no matter how badly you want to be. I can also guarantee it will be 720p which is a disgrace.
I don't give a shit, I would never buy a game like this on a console, I'll be playing this at 1440p Ultra with a 120 FPS average... It will likely be 720p on the Xbox One, if it is I don't have any doubt the framerate will be consistently more stable and a bit higher.

Battlefield 4 was also made when SDK tools were a lot more crude for the Xbox One, things have changed.
Were you expecting something different this time?
Battlefield 4 = 720P on Xbone, 900P on PS4.
Battlefield Hardline = 720P on Xbone, 900P on PS4.
Star Wars Battlefront = 720P on Xbone, 900P on PS4.
@nyadc: No idea, never played (outside the Beta/demo).
In any case, drops from 60fps->50fps are a non-issue as they aren't drastic. If they dropped to 40fps or below, then that would be quite a bit jarring.
In any case, outside the actual resolution, I'm glad the game is looking and performing this well! There were some *rumours* that it was completely broken not that long ago....

At the cost of even lower resolutions? How is that any better?
@nyadc: According to GAF things haven't changed. Word on GAF is that the PS4 version has a smoother rate than the Xbone version.
We will see if this is true when DF does their analysis but until then I'd refrain from talking like the Xbone version is guaranteed better frames because it isn't. Your example of using Battlefield Hardline is crap because both games aren't made by the same devs.

So I should trust random people on NeoGaf? Okay... Also are you saying that the developers behind Hardline are more competent than Dice?

It's a first person shooter, an online one at that, framerate and consistency is of paramount importance.
@nyadc: No I'm saying the DICE is way more competent than the guys that made Hardline and their last attempt which was BF4 ran and looked better on PS4.
Seeing as GAF is usually right on these kinds of things I'd trust them. It's up to you whether to trust them or not but it's irrelevant since DF will eventually put up their Xbone analysis.

" The Xbox One version runs at 720P, resulting in blurry edges and unsatisfactory image quality."
"To make matters worse, Xbox One gamers have been complaining about rubber banding and disconnecting issues. "
PC still making these consoles look like jokes. I play my games at UHD and you cows and lems cant even get to 1080p. Maybe in another 8 years!
And yea, looks like consoles held back this game. Clearly 64 players and space transitions were out of the question for them.
@Dire_Weasel: Not wanting to shell out $600 for a console in 2013.
Remember, the PS3 and Xbox One were both sold at a loss and were more expensive (360 is too when you count for inflation) than the PS4 and Xbox One were. Sony and Microsoft lost a lot of money on the launch of their consoles and neither made it back until halfway through the gen. It's unrealistic to expect a company to take that kind of loss on hardware.
X1 thanks to DX12, da cloud, and other resources that the great MS has unleashed will have Battlefront running at 1080p with a rock solid 60fps.
@flyincloud1116: Try 720p with horrible image quality and dips below 60fps brah. Teh cloudz was a lie.

Sure I get that but are you saying that the framerate won't drop at all on the Xbox One?
Impressive but still it's an online MP shooter and I have no interest in playing it. It does look like it's going to be fun for an hour or two so I don't see myself staying with it pretty much like any other online game.
More of s SP guy here.
Sure I get that but are you saying that the framerate won't drop at all on the Xbox One?
No, just that it will likely hold a higher average and be a more consistent experience.
But it'll have muddier images just for a couple of frames extra, on average? That's pretty bad.

For the application a consistently higher framerate with less drops would be the better solution even in spite of the resolution.

Well I disagree. If I can get the picture to look decent and I know it's going to drop regardless of what I do, I'm going to have a decent image and try to manage the drops as good as I can.
