BBC article confirms 3rd place for XBox 360

Impressive for both parties. I never expected MS to get as much market share as they did good for them. However, given all the bad decisions Sony made the first year ot two, their lead in sales is pretty astonishing. Overcoming price barriers, soft software supply, and a less revered online service. Well done, Sony.

When Sony says "We over took the 360", and gives numbers to back it up, I'll agree with the PS3 being in second. Until that happens...

The moment Sony secures second place they will let the world know .

Until then they will keep hiding US sales figures unlike the other two and count in worldwide shipped family numbers instead of just PS3 .

If the Xbox didn't win this gen with all the advantages it had then it simply never gonna happen. It had a year alone in the market, it had the press on its part, it had the games at the beginning of the gen, it was almost as cheap as the Wii (when you ignore XBL fees and other hidden costs if not it was more expensive than a $600 PS3), the PS3 was a sinking ship, developers and the masses in general hated the PS3, Xbox had a 10 million lead, etc. and they still lost.
