In conclusion: Not average, in fact Great & Outstanding is what is indicated.

Sorry but, Fable is average at best. It's a AA RPG in many people's eyes. Sticking with console RPG's, KOTOR absolutely destroys it. As someone coming from a heavy RPG background on PC, Fable just didn't do it for me, and many others.

"This seemingly minor complaint is largely representative of the game as a whole. Fable offers countless unexpected options and opportunities, and in many ways is one of the deepest, most flexible games ever designed. If i did not have a PS3, then how do i know you can make personalised themes for PS3, by copuing them to a flash, or that the open button is touch sensitive, or that it has a blinking HDD light under it, or that PSNsystem updates are slow as hell (in my connection at leats), or the GT5 demo can be downloaded from Japan site, or that GT5 has a host of jaggies in the demo, or that Uncharted has 60 treasures to find, or that Folklore has very small levels, or that Heavenly Sword has a frustrating level, that you have to guide your shield to open doors, or that you can log in with different names of different countries network, and download other country demos, or that FF10 plays on PS3, or that there is a device that you have to use to transfer saves from PS2 to a virtual memory card on PS3, or that you have to press the middle PS controller button each time to let it connect to the machine, or that the controller loads fast and lasts long, unlike360 one etc etc etc

Saolin in my opinion is one of the most extreme fanboys on these boards. I'm sure I will enjoy Fable 2 but his thread last week is going to take some getting over! It will feel tainted now.

It's pretty close to average, it has issues and it isn't AAA, but an 8.5 is what we should all expect from developers, especially now paying 60 dollars for games. You're familiar with the 7-9 range scoring system, right? Almost ALL games(statistically speaking) score between 7-9, it's the "comfort" zone for reviewers. Giving a game an 8.5 or an 8.9 means the game is good but not AAA good. There's a pretty big barrier in order to put a game in the category of GREAT. To me, there are only three types of games, GREAT GAMES, GOOD GAMES, AND BAD GAMES. Fable is a good game, not a great one. Of course, this is all opinion, which you are entitled to as well.

This is very eciting I know the Sony PR people said that but it could be true. I am going to go out on a limb and say it was Team ICO's new game. Rember there were rumors brewing that Team ICO was going to be showing off their game around the time of GDC.

8.5 is not average, is pretty close to amazing TBH, Mass Effect and Lost odyssey are INCREDIBLE ands scored lower
