Be honest. Simply Put, the PS3 is not living up to the hype...

Its no way to spin this. Only the most blind fanboys will even attempt the damage control dance.

PS1 and PS2 will be brought up so ill bring it up for you. Yes the PS2 was and still is a great console, however this is NOT the last gen, but the current one.

The arguement that 100 million gamers are waiting for a price drop to purchase a PS3 will be brought up and I will say I was one of those 100 million, the price has no bearing on me. It could be $800 and if it was worth it, I would purchase it. But thats not the case.

So with that said, MGS4, FFXII, Lair, HS, Rfom, Warhawk and Motostorm have always been used in the "ju ju just wait till {insert one of those games} is released. Rfom and Motorstorm were the first flops (by GS standards/hype). Motorstorm being the worse. *NOT SAYING THESE GAMES ARE NOT GOOD!*

Then there is Lair and Warhawk. Lair, goes w/o saying so I wont even go into that. But, it was hyped to godly levels. Warhawk is a multiplayer game only. The game is pretty much neutered when the fact arrises that a large contingent of users are having problems with the login servers and the stats servers are not updating. While the game is actually pretty good, the servers are jacked up. Sorta like peanut butter with no jelly.

Whats left is MGS4, and FFXII. Some will say Ratchet and Clank, others GT5. I await the honest debate and look forward to entertaining the fanboys.... :shock:

I don't believe they are counting repaired 360's as new units sold. If you're going to make claims like that, you'll need some evidence to back that up.

PS3 is easily the best choice for me because of the games that are going to be on it, and the features it includes. I don't care if sony said it could cure cancer or whatever, I really don't. That kind of hype is for people dumber than me.

I see the PS3 lasting for around 12 years, and it could possibly outsell the Wii because of this. I don't think Xbox 360 has a chance because it appeals to a very certain demographic in the western, particularly american part of the world.

Honestly, I don't agree - PS3 will have been out about a year and we'll have seen Warhawk, RFOM, NGS, Uncharted, Ratchet, Heavenly Sword, Haze and COD4. And I didn't mention half the games, just the ones I'm really enjoying/will enjoy. All of this within the 1st year of a consoles life is not bad to me, and, the entire 2008 period looks awesome to say the least.

If you can name another platform I can play GT5, MGS4, FFXIII, White Knight Story and LittleBigPlanet, or anything comparable I'd look into it - as of now the only game I can't either get on the PS3/PC that I want is Mass Effect. Other than Mass Effect, the PS3 has more than lived up to the hype - it's a great machine with a excellent future.

To be fair, the ps2's launch line up was pretty weak for the most part, but it did alright in the long run. Granted, it wasn't in third place and facing stiff competition, but keep that as a perspective. Sony's marketing department is just good - they've always been able to generate a lot of buzz and excitement for their products - sometimes so much that the real thing seems not as good.sonicare

First, yes, PS2 is a last gen console. But that doesn't negate the fact that PS2 is still selling and selling well in THIS generation. So, it does have its place in THIS generation. And it cannot be left out of the equation.

Second, I will not deny that PS3 has been lackluster. But anyone spending over $300 on a console and bases their decision launch year, is an idiot. Call it the "Waitstation" all you want. The point is, this generation didn't start until it arrived. And this generation won't be fully decided until it starts being utilized. Its only a matter of time.

Third, you can't deny the fact that 360's year lead put a hurting on PS3. And before you praise 360, think about where it would be if launched side-by-side.

Fourth,once again we have an ignorant TC posting about Warhawk issues. There haven't been widespread issues with log-ins. There haven't been issues with lag. There HAVE been issues with stats, but that is being fixed. There WAS an issue with game availability but that was fixed a few days ago. Either know the issues or don't talk about them. You lay them out there like everyone is getting booted from the servers. What a joke.

Well i dont know why you arer calling the PS3 a flop..because of price? because of line up?..or because you were thinking it was God's machine and still is not delivering that?..For me its a good system if not a good bargain right now a 499 for blue ray disc player an game machine, I just buy it 3 days ago with motorstorm and i am having lot of fun with it, my nephews love it . I too have an Xbox360 and i decide buy the PS3 because my 4 monthxbox360 died (red ring) and that just give me idea that the hardware is very unreliable, Mybrother in law Xbox 360 die after mine died, 2 other friends of mine that have too xbox360 died...so i prefer a reliable system that one that offersgood lineup but very unreliable hardware that can dieof heat or bad dvd-drive or whatever reason. I ask the UPS guy how many xbox360 have he see with this problem and told me..man everyday i have to go for 360 all around (i live in mexico..not usa) and he told me..well we fill atrailer each and everyday of 360 systems that went bad, thats something alarming for me is not that someone told me a story or urban legend, this is true, i read a lot of forums and (i am not bashing the Xbox360 line up or games) and this is a very bad problems..i dont know why peopleare blind but this problem is gething bigger and bigger. For me i prefer a realiable system that doesnt Dieall of a sudden than one that have great games but dies often.

I am having a lot of fun with my PS3 and i am waiting my Xbox30 ...i just hope the Xbox360works has it should be...

About the Wii..well not my cup of taste, lots of puuzzle games, not many shooters or adult contest on it, its fun for some minutes (my nephews have it)but after seeing their library and whats coming (just only metroid for me it's good..the rest are not my taste of games)i think i will stick with my Ps3 and Xbox360...

Motorstorm??? Why did it flop? Because the score came in low. Why did the score come in low? Because it had a lack of tracks. What does that have to do with system power or abilities? It doesn't. It has to do with the developers not creating or spending the money on more tracks. Get a clue.
