Be Honest...You only got a Wii for the controller.

Most Wii owners didn't get the console because it was going to "innovate" gaming or bring a new level of depth to gaming...

They got one cuz "it haz teh armz swingz!!11!"

That said...how can anyone even take the console seriously? The big companies certainly haven't and obviously the vast army of casuals who play games once a month don't either.

This leaves sheep in a bad way...with so many people buying the console just to flail their arms....nobody even takes it seriously...and whatever success might have been had by Mii is about to get atom bombed by Home.

But hey...it's not a fad right? lol :P

I see a few Ninty fans but whats sad is that while you really do care about the games...Ninty has left you out to dry.

Hmmmm Zelda in 1080p with graphics equal to Mass Effect and FF XIII or Zelda that could have been done on cube with motion sensing? yeaaa....

i think the wii's good fun lacks in the graphics like on cod3 were it tends to lag out at the start till the system catches up but then it dosnt have half the power of the ps3 or xbox.  The good thing about the controller  is you can either sit back and relax or really get into it and jump about like a mook. games have got abit pricey recently but i try not to by a game brand new anyway. i have friends who have the 360 and ps3 and really for what the ps3 cost i could think of many better things to spend my hard earned cash on like a holiday for example.  As for the xbox well i dont see how any console can be better than a PC for fps so whats the point in getting that. Another great thing about the wii is its the first console i know where if you get it out at a bbq or somthing the women dont moan about it they get involved and its funny to watch. i remember backwhen i was 14 and goldeneye was the game and that never went down as well as the wii :-) i cant wait for a wii that has the controler with a few more bits added like a mic in it for instance and the graphics you see on the ps3  rolled into it that would be an uber console i might have a hd tv by then aswell.

Mario Galaxy has been said to use the Wiimote to perfection. I'd rather have that than a 1080p resolution that I could never use since I play my games on a 17-year old SDTV. 

Nintendo first party.

Major third party support due to sales.

one had the wrist strap snap? i have and it went all the way across the room and smashed into the wall and it was a long room. i might of put abit to much power into a swing on tennis.....i won the round though:-) got hit in the elbow twice aswell while multiplaying the was a cheeky bonus to the gameplay value.Chippacabra69

At least PS3 and Xbox 360 have a myriad of features they rely on to be good consoles.

Exactly mate these xbox and ps people think there hardcore but have they got scares to prove there gameing prowess? i think not. Everytime you step up to play the wii it could be the last time your able to pic up a controler again. I guess we nintendo fanboys just like living that little bit closer to the edge than most ;-)

although does have it's downfalls (loz:tp for wii, compared to for gc) i'm getting one for many reasons...

games(SSBB, galaxy, MP3)

price($250 compared to $400-600 + tax)

added features

cheaper games

motion sensing(admit it or not, the wiimote does add endless possibilities when it comes to gameplay, and can make games more fun if the developers put their minds to it.. but like i said, there's always a point where it doesnt make a game any more fun... like zelda:tp)

free online play(i'm poor)

Why did I buy a Wii?

1) Was it for the controller?  Yep sure was, I love it its great fun Wii sports, PGA golf alone make this a massive reason to buy a wii for the controller.

2) Was it because it was cheaper?  Yep sure was, I am not paying £500 (uk) for a system that has few games and is made for HD, I don't have a HD TV yet.

3) Was it because it is Nintedo? Not really I have had Nintendo systems before SNES & Game Boy (original) but I also have had Sega & Sony systems ( PS1 & Mega Drive/CD ). I am yet to own a MS consol.

Am I regretting my purchase?  NO I am extremely happy with it, I have a PC for FPS games and your never going to convince me a pad is better than Mouse/keyboard & headset for that. Now I have a system in the lounge that the family can play I can play not only some great new games but all the VC games I had as a kid.

To be honest I don't mind what system does well but I love to see it when the big guys don't get it all there own way.

NobouMusicMaker you always fail to bash the wii logically or to make it funny. Anyhow, I bought the wii for the controller and the games. Because of the wii mote, i got interested on console games since i have never been a console gamer but a hardcore PC gamer in the past years. I'm really enjoying the Wii and are anticipating many great upcoming titles for it. Wii is my first console but not the first console i have played.lordlors

Your thread doesn't make sense. First you tell us to be honest and say that we bought the Wii for the controller, then you are claiming that we didn't get it for the innovate gaming, but the [stupidcowlanguage]armz swingz[cowlang]

Are you trying to say... that the Wii remote is part of the Wii?
