It does look amazing and I absolutely love Clive Barkers work, and Undying is a masterpiece, but this won't be a success likes Gears of War.BioShockOwnz

Never said that, buddy. If you would have actually taken the time to read my various posts throughout this thread, you would know full well that I said numerous times that, JUST BASED ON WHAT I HAVE SEEN THUS FAR, IN MY OPINION, THIS GAME HAS BETTER GRAPHICS THAN GEARS.

I also said that I know that it will not sell any where near as well as Gears either. I just said that I think that the GRAPHICS look better, based on what I have seen of it so far. I made a graphics comparison only....thats all. It is just an opinion, man. Get over it.

Never said it would be more successful, I simply said the graphics look better in my opinion from what I have seen. I doubt this game will even be on the radar of most casual Gears of War goons anyway, lol. 

Though taking in to consideration that Clive Barker is a master horror writer of undisputable notable fame....such as being the creator of classics such as HELLRAISER. It is safe to say that his credentials and reputation, not in the gaming world, but in GENERAL, make Cliffy B's of Epic look like he is still in grade school. That being said, I think it is rather safe to surmise that the STORY within Jericho will make an 8 hour frag-fest against aliens that crawled out of the middle of the Earth seem rather simplistic at best as a basic plot.

As far as multi-player and online gameplay goes, I do not think that Jericho will even come close to Gears, but as far as story, and game length goes in regards to single player campaign, I do not think that a game as shallow an UNORIGINAL as Gears will even compare. But that of course will not matter to the casual, fun n' gun gamer who does not care about plot, story, campaign length, ect. They just want to get online, and blow away their friends, but that is cool.

Jericho will be more of a single player game anyway, and that is why I think it will no doubt appeal to me more personally, as single player campaign depth is what I look for in a GOOD, QUALITY game. Nothing against Gears, it is a great game, while it lasts, but it just did not live ANYWHERE NEAR up to the hype for me. It is a fun game with great graphics though.

It is very short, with little of what MAY be gameplay, but it is still a pretty nice teaser, regardless. The screens look like they are in game/real time, as if you notice, they are still in first person mode, whereas normally a cut-scene would not be showing while still in first person perspective.

That looks like crap.  Not impressive.  It looks retarded.  At least Gears looks awesome and plays jsut as well.  Those graphics are ****.

And It looks like one ofthose clastrophobic games like Doom 3.  Remember all those guts and creepy pictures?  Yeah, it turned out that Doom 3 SUCKED AFTER 4 YEARS OF DEVELOPMENT.

Well, you are wise to do that, and I respect the fact that you do. I am not trying to sound like I am jumping the gun on this game, I just think that it looks/sounds great, based on what I have seen/read. And in my opinion, it is looking better graphically better than Gears. Although I really think that maybe it is just the artwork of the graphics that I really like more than Gears. It just looks way more dark, twisted and sinister to me....which is very appealing in some strange way, lol.

And in my opinion, it is looking better graphically better than Gears. Although I really think that maybe it is just the artwork of the graphics that I really like more than Gears. It just looks way more dark, twisted and sinister to me....which is very appealing in some strange way, lol.

The graphics most likely will not be as good as gears but the storyline WILL blow gears out of the water. I read most of Clives books and seen the hellraiser movies and Clive is the only author that scares the hell out of me. This guy has the sickest imagination of any human being let alone horror writers. After reading his books I have to sleep with the lights on because I keep getting damn nightmares. Clive Barker is the greatest horror writer of all time(stephan king is church compared to Clive) and this game hopefully will have a lot of the good 'ol Clive Barker "OMG I just pissed myself" horror.2LiveKrew

I've never read Barker, but if your into horror stories, you should give Lovecraft a chance. He has a very claustrophobic and descriptive style, so he's a lot different from the sleek, less detailed style of most contemporary authors (such as king), but if you like his style he's fantastic.

Ahh, someone else who "get's it" with this potentially killer upcoming game. What I really mean in terms of my thinking that it will have better graphics than Gears, is that I personally think that the overall artwork and design is superior. It just looks, well....horrendously, and wonderfully SICK in all of the gory glory that is Clive Barker horror.

I've never read Barker, but if your into horror stories, you should give Lovecraft a chance. He has a very claustrophobic and descriptive style, so he's a lot different from the sleek, less detailed style of most contemporary authors (such as king), but if you like his style he's fantastic.

Hellraiser is considered a classic, my friend. I am sorry that you do not understand that, as you probably were not even born when the first one came out. Also, I never said that the game would look "exactly the same" as the screenshots, but based on what I have seen, it sure looks good enough for me, and that is all that matters from my perspective.

Well, if you like Lovecraft as well (he's my all-time favorite author), perhaps I need to check out Barker. The list of books on my to-read list keeps getting bigger. Right now I'm working my way through the works of H.G. Wells and Ray Bradbury after just finishing the Dark Tower series (which is by far the best work King has ever done).

I would not put Barker up on a pedestal with Lovecraft, as he is on his own plane....completely, lol. I do not think anyone has a bigger cult following than Lovecraft. Barker, however, is more about absolute shock value, and explicitly graphic horror. A good start would be his "Books of Blood" volumes 1-6. And then maybe "The Inhuman Condition".

Again, Lovecraft is just on another level completely, but I think that if you like true "shock value" and more modern horror, then you would do well to read some Barker sometime, as I think that you would dig him.
