It was alright. The stories and characters in the next two games after Symphonia were fairly awful, as I remember.

It was funny yesterday when I was trying to remind my friend how we had played Legendia a long time ago, and I couldn't name one plot point from the entire game, or describe any of the cities...maybe more my fault, but I could tell you anything you like about Symphonia. :\

Demons Souls blows the competition away. Not even close imo.

Edit: Not including Mass Effect of course.

Demon's Souls wins in this case. I dont consider ME2 an action RPG which is why it is ommited.

Well, I guess we just disagree. I loved Abyss and found most of the characters to be pretty cool. Jade, Luke, and Tear were great in my opinion. It's been a long time since I've played the game, but I can still remember points of the story. The ending did drag though, so that was one drawback. Probably should have ended a few hours before it actually did. Still one of my favorite PS2 games ever though. Definitely top 5.

I haven't played Legendia, but apparently most Tales fans pretend it doesn't exist :lol:

Gotta love Bethesda, so Oblivion for the length, and Fallout 3 for the combat.

Either way: no, Diablo is widely recognized as THE major franchise defining the term "Action RPG."

"Traditional point and click RPG" would be stuff like Baldur's Gate and Planescape in my mind. Completely different style of game.

The absense of Mass Effect 2 has created a disturbance in The Fail :P

how do you not put mass effect 2 when its better then all those game put together?

Oblivion has it's flaws, but it's still one of my favorite games of all time, so it gets my vote.

Also, Diablo > Diablo 2. :)

Since ME2 is a Pure RPG :twisted: I guess I'll need to choose Fable 3 - yes, I've traveled to the future and back and you are all the beneficiaries of my travels. :P

i've honestly never played Titan Quest so i wouldn't know

I've only played Demon's Souls and Oblivion from that list. Demon's Souls is a great action RPG, the combat is very fluid and challenging/satisfying.

Oblivion and Mass Effect 2 are my favourite games this gen

Oblivion and Fallout 3 were awesome but there is nothing like Demon's Souls.

this gen I guess Id have to say oblivion, unless you count borderlands but i dont thats waay more of a shooter then an ARPG.
