Best Console Ever Created?

Inspired by another thread comparing the DreamCast to the PS2, which do you think was the best console ever. Basically best games, sales, hardware, etc.

*NOTE: Left out PC because it changes constantly, otherwise, well ya know...*

Super Nintendo, followed closely by the PS2.

The PS2.

PS2 by far in my opinion.

definetly the N64 followed by the PS2 which is followed by the 360 which is followed by the genesis which is followed by the Dreamcast...I have it going for a top 10 :P

SNES, so many awesome games, and it's better than the PS2 IMO.

Cant believe you left out NES and Playstation 1.

If it was for anything but Sales I would say GCN it is my favorite console that I own/ have ever owned (That includes 2600, NES, SNES, Genesis, PS1, N64, PS2, Dreamcast, Wii, and 360)

If I went by hours spent playing the console it would be N64 because all my friends owned it and we played it all the time. For the GCN I own mostly Singleplayer games with the exception of maybe 1 or 2 games.

Cant believe you left out NES and Playstation 1.

I started the Dreamcast > Ps2 thread, and I say the SNES is the best console ever. Starfox, Killer Instinct, F-Zero, Super Star Wars series, Super Mario World, Aladdin, SF2 Turbo, Turtles in Time, Chrono Trigger, Yoshi's Island, Mario Kart, Earthworm Jim, DKC, Super Metroid. And it even had Doom and Primal Rage. It took me a while to realize which console should take #1, and it is the SNESthreegirlz

I voted PS2. mostly because it was what really defined my entrance as a gamer.

sure i had an NES and SNES and N64, but i never considered myself a 'gamer' until i got a PS2.

but the best console ever created?

I'd say it's a tie between SNES and PS2. both did great things when they were on top.

The PS2 by a long shot.

It has the greatest game library for the hardcore & casual gamer.

Its games are something Im gona be remembering 20 yrs down the road. Ah, those times... :(

The PS2, easily the best of all time imo

meh, Ive always preferred the N64 but that was just my opinion. Im not gonna knock you for preferring PS2 I can see where your coming from.

The PS2 has God of War I and II, Devil May Cry I and III, Shadow of the Colossus, Ico, the Jak & Daxter and Ratchet & Clank series, Soul Calibur III, Tekken 4 and 5, Metal Gear Solid 2 and 3, the Onimusha series, Guilty Gear XX, Final Fantasy X and XII, you get the picture.

Other... it's the PS3!

Yes. Playstation 2's library crushes all in my opinion.
