I love the PS3 startup screen but the PS1 give me the chills so I like them both, I also liked the PS2 when you never hard a CD in and you could look at your memory card I loved hearing the wind blowing.
I've no idea what the Wii does when you start it up, but between 360 and PS3 I'd have to go with the classy strings of the PS3 start-up over the 360...noise thing..., although I prefer the 360 as a console of course. I just YouTubed the PS2 boot, that's a pretty cool futuristic sound.

Oh so you prefer the 360 " of course " do you, well then let me just say I prefer the sound of every 360 going RROD and the sight of the beautiful flashing red lights. PS3 has the best start up sound, exclusive games, hardware reliability, online service and hardware muscle. Let us not forget the beautiful sights to be seen in every Best Buy and Wal-Mart, as well as other retailers across the country, all of the hundreds of Blu-Ray movies on store shelves where no HD-DVD can me seen ever again. Oh and i'm sure the profits of such carriers as FED-EX, UPS and the U.S. Mail are a sight to behold too since they've delivered all the RROD 360's back and forth from day one. wooooooaaaaaahhhhhh there... someone must of hit a fanboy nerve
my fav ever is probably the PS1. that was kewl. this gen the 360s is my fav...its a sound id associate with a games console. kinda technical and "game on" n shtuff. the wiis is annoying (well if were to consider the jingle in the menu to be the start up sound). i wish i could change it or turn it off without turning off my tellys sound. some of the apps in the wii have good tunes though. the PS3s is just a bit too...uppity (for lack of a better term) imho. the perfect startup sound for the PS3 would be the intro music to their e3 vids last year (look for the game compilation vid from last year on PSN if its still there). shorten it a bit and keep the last 2 second for the actual launching of a game and that would be very playstation..it would fit well. at the mo its just uppity and generic imho. i get what there trying to inspire with it (turning on the PS3 is like the formation of a great orchestra. its boot sequence is the orchestra tuning itself) but its a bad fit.
The original PS1's was the best. I miss that sound... As for current gens? I'd say the 360. It reminds me of the PS2 "warp" sound. I like the classiness of the PS3's music too though. This thread is proof that system wars can talk about ANYTHING related to a console and it be interesting.... lol.
I like the alternative gamecube start up. The one with the monkey. My friend used to play it, and I'd beg him to tell me how to do it. The only way he'd tell me was if I beat him in melee, (which I did after a while)

This!!!!. Sir you are full of win. This gen is boring, the ps3 one is great for the first time but its get old fast. The 360 one reminds me of Windows... meh...Time to play some Crash Bandicoot on psx just for nostalgia
My fav's are Dreamcast and Gamecube. In this gen I like the 360 better because the wii's setup is just, well boring and the ps3 isn't really the best either. But I still don't like the 360's setup either.
