If I had my way it would be the PS4 with the bone controller! (but I can't).
Cheers,
P.S. The best graphical reproduction is what i'm after and I have both consoles.

@duncancameron23: It's been stated by Bungie that the PS4 is the best platform. At the very least because of the exclusives. That said, if you prefer the X1, get it for that. The game will practically be the same. The deciding factor should be which system has your friends on it because this is a social game.
Well Xbox One vs PS4 multiplatform 95% games are better on PS4
Better graphics, better frame rate and exclusive DLC
Xbox One sold 5 million, PS4 sold 10 million. So, most players will buy on PS4 which means if you want to play online, then buy PS4 that is not dead

Thanks, much appreciated!
I'm sure some fool will go on and tell you about "superior version" when they need DF to point out those differences. The game will be the same on either console so go with your controller preference.
I had the same dilemma TC. I like the Xbox One controller much more than the DS4 and I don't trust PSN in the slightest. That shit goes down everytime a beta, demo, movie or character skin pack comes out. (exaggeration of course)
But with Destiny the PS4 is the only way to go. And that has nothing to do with performance or graphics. The exclusive/timed exclusive content for what may be a content starved mmo is huge. You will probably get a lot more out of the PS4 version.
I managed to preorder the Ghost Edition on PS4. My new dilemma is do I open it or keep it sealed and buy it digitally as well?

Open it!!
If you're going to buy the game no matter what and it's not a question of deciding one console over another because you have more friends you want to play with on that system, definitely ps4.
DS4 is more than adequate for FPS games. PS4 is stronger than Xbone and this is fact. The game looks pretty close on both systems, but if either is going to have the graphical or performance edge, it's gonna be PS4. Also, PS4 does get some DLC earlier, so I guess that's a point.
PS4 is the only place to play at midnight on release day. Only PS4 has the pre-load feature for this game.
Not that I'd ever even consider it because I prefer physical copies over digital, but do they still only do the midnight downloading based on Pacific time? If so, it's effectively useless to brag about that feature, because only people in specific timezones benefit. For me, I'd have to wait until 3AM instead of just taking a 10 minute drive to the local gamestop.

Normally I don't buy digital either, but since all PS4 games install on the HDD anyways, it still takes up the same amount of space. Plus, Destiny is the kind of game me and my friends will play regularly for a long time, so when I'm engaged in another title and they message me to come on, I can get right in to the game quickly.
Yeah, it's Pacific time, so two am for me.
None because that game looks boring.
I know! I thought I was the only one. I can't grasp why people are so excited for it.
Same game, one has exclusive content (most of which is timed)
If you prefer the online or the Controller on Xbox get that one, if you just want to get early content first get the Playstation one.
the 2 are the same outside of an extra mission for PS4. So OP get it wherever your friends are getting it.

I'm just not wanting to ever have to deal with deleting a game for hard drive space reasons and then sitting through a long wait time to download it again. Installing from a disc only takes a few seconds on ps4.

Did you just compare Live to PSN in terms of how lively the community is, please research. Just because Sony sold more consoles than Microsoft doesn't mean they're more people playing on PSN rather than Live. Live has a much bigger community.
Back to the topic, I would pick the xbox version.

Or community preference. PS4 will also get exclusive content (likely timed), but controller + community outweigh that, IMO.

He didn't say they were.. Resolution is 1080p on both, and the framerate is 30fps on both, therefor if Bungie wanted to make use of the PS4's extra power they would do it some other way
Both are supposed to have 1080p/30fps. Kind of a stalemate on that end if that's your only criteria. Xbox will have a suspend/resume play feature if that matters, as well as a functioning gameplay recording feature, better interface and trigger supported rumble control, and less hassle party chat features. But, PS4 will have more players online. But, if you got money to burn, get both versions, be one of those people that dabbles in both and let us know what you think. Basically since you have both my main criteria would be which console your closest friends have and weigh it on that criteria, as multiplayer is going to be a key feature for this game... and, if you don't have any friends, I'd not buy Destiny and work on that.
Depends what is important to you. The PS4 version will probably look a little better and get some timed DLC sooner. For me though, the Xbox One's better controller, online service, and community makes it the better console to get it on.
If I had my way it would be the PS4 with the bone controller! (but I can't).

Yeah that'd be good! But I'm going with Xbone.

Destiny is a game shackled to last gen game design. The PS4/Xbone port are limited by cross-gen game design. Furthermore, although the PS4 is technically more powerful, Bungie's goal is not to tap that power but they stated they wanted to achieve graphical parity. Any extra juice for PS4 will be left on the table and not used for Destiny anyways (not that it's going to be a looker, it's Bungie and the game is on PS360).
That leaves content, the PS4 version has exclusive content (I think I read for a year). There you go. If you own both machines, I would go for the content edge. Sequels may take advantage of the PS4 hardware but we'll never know that for sure.
I wonder if Destiny 2/3/4 will also be on PS360? Time will tell, eventually those older machines will be cut off.
I'm not even thrilled about the game personally, but I did play the Alpha and Beta for PS4 and Xbone. Enjoy.
The differences will most likely to be minor and you will enjoy the game either way. In a game of this nature I'd look at your friends list on either console and choose based on that. The PS4 is said to be the better version graphically and that's the one I'm getting.
None because that game looks boring.
mems you have SHIIIIIIIT taste. Like you should see a taste doctor or something. PS4 will look better, run better, have a much bigger community and has an exclusive Strike. Any other versions than ps4 are a no go
