What do you think is the best console to own if you already have a gaming PC?
This topic is locked from further discussion.
Hard to say. Depends on what games you like most I guess. If you want newer Halo games, I guess the choice is obvious. Same if you want newer Mario and other Nintendo games. PS3 if you want Demon's Souls and its other unique games. Of course, it might also depend on which controller you prefer. I think a PC and a DS make a nice pairing.
It's always these threads that people use as evidence this site should be dubbed 'Cowspot'. *******, there's just plenty of people here capable of making a logical call - even though it is SW.
Wouldn't the logical call be the one with the most exclusives? :PIt's always these threads that people use as evidence this site should be dubbed 'Cowspot'. *******, there's just plenty of people here capable of making a logical call - even though it is SW.

I chose PS3.... because most games I was interested in on the 360 I could already get in a better form on the PC.
I'm sure a mame cabinet would be considered illegal, and I don't think we're supposed to talk about such things here.
[QUOTE="Kan0nF0dder"]Wouldn't the logical call be the one with the most exclusives? :P I see what you're saying, and agree somewhat. But, at the end of the day the Wii's exclusives, great as they are, don't look that impressive graphic wise and many round these parts never got over 'the waggle'. This is enough to write the wii off for many. It's always these threads that people use as evidence this site should be dubbed 'Cowspot'. *******, there's just plenty of people here capable of making a logical call - even though it is SW.

But New Super Mario Bros. Wii is so much fun! And there's not much motion-controlling in that game at all. And Donkey Kong Country Returns looks like it's going to be a great platformer, and possibly not have much motion controling in it either.
Anyone of them are pretty good, but it depends on the exclusives you want off each.
Myself for example. Excluding the Wii, which I already have, if I was to buy a new system it'd be the 360 given that I have an eye for those Rare titles like Banjo Kazooie, Kameo, Viva Piñata, etc, a few choice XBLA titles like Shadow Complex or Geometry Wars, and a few shmups the system gets like DeathSmiles.
Just depends. I guarantee 99% of people on System Wars will tell you the 360 only has games the PC has better versions of though.
Don't make us PC users look bad. :P360 and Ps3, Wii is to bad for us PC elitists ;)

Ah I understand, but when playing the PC, the console games don't look impressive graphic wise as well (Especially since in the back of your mind you're always thinking: "1280×720") So to me, it will always be about the gameplay instead of the graphics when trying to find a combo for the Wii. :P
[QUOTE="PcGamingRig"]That is a myth. I say the Wii, it has the most exclusives when coupled with the PC.obviously ps3 because most games on the 360 are already on pc.

dunno if you were being sarcastic tho..my sarcasm meter tends to be busted.
you look at the PS3 and Wii exclusives and NONE of them can be played on PC. I'd go with PS3 or Wii
I went with PS3. But truth to be told any of them would be sufficient for a secondary system, even the 360 has plenty of games not on PC. Halo, Gears, Forza, RDR, Bayonetta, sports games, music games, fighting games etc. How many games can one person actually play.ManicAce
halo 1 + 2 + gears 1 can be played on PC. RDR, bayonetta, sports games, music games, and fighting games can all be played on PS3.

Well actually you can play the Wii exclusives through some, "other" means :P
And I agree, a lot of good 360 games are already on the PC, which is why I would place it last on the "Combine with the PC" chart.
BUT even if we take out the games it shares with the PC, it would still have more exclusives than the PS3. So the whole "All of the 360 games are on the PC" thing is false.
I think it's Wii and it's not that close. You get by far the least overlap between the libraries of the PC and Wii.
DarthBilf
what overlaps do you find on PC + PS3?
just to list some exclusives

Multiplats of course, just like on the 360.
It's literally IMPOSSIBLE to legally play a PS3, Wii, or 360 exclusive on the PC.

Halo 3, ODST, Reach, Gears 2 and Gears 3 aren't on PC though. And while PS3 plays console multiplats too it doesn't really have any advantage over the 360 in that regard, in fact the 360 often has the better versions.Out of the three, it all depends on the exclusives you like, since the PC dominates with the multiplats. I'd say the PS2 is pretty much the best console to have with a PC, since it offers far more games than any current gen console, is still available at retail, and offers many experiences that have yet to be matched by modern, current-gen games.

true but then there's even more overlap with the 360 games I listed in addition to the multiplats on both the 360 + PS3 - games that if they weren't on the PC..would otherwise be considered exclusive to the 360 console. PS3 has none of those types of PS3 + PC multiplats. the only multiplats that can be played on PC + PS3 are those titles which are on the 360 as well (the true multiplats).

there we go! feel free to include that in your original post next time. with a broad statement like halo and gears can't be found on PC - you couldn't be more wrong - 2 halo titles and 1 gears title CAN be found on PC. As for the others you listed, you're right. they are exclusive. elaborating will not only help you with your statement, but will help the readers on here as well.

Through emulation, if you dump the bios off a console you own, then its not illegal. It is completely legal to the extent of my knowledge to play your own game discs on your pc with an emulator as long as you obtain the bios from your console. Don't quote me on that however, because Im not 100% sure.

Yeah there's only like 4-5 games that are just on the PS3 + PC that I personally know of.

Yeah I understand what you're saying but I also don't fully know if it's legal. :P
