Probably Blizzard, but they're still in their prime.

It's pretty hard to go with anyone other than Blizzard. They have been "in their prime" for going on 2 decades now...

It's hard to argue with that level of consistency.

Is there any other developer than controls the Gold Standard title in THREE separate genres like Blizzard does?

Pretty much this. Well, them and Nintendo. And so glad I've seen so few mentions of Valve and no mentions of Naughty Dog whatsoever. Plus love for Black Isle and the like? :o Maybe there is hope for this forum after all.

Yeah, this. Forgot about Nintendo but of course, they never lost it.

Free Radical Design - Had the best members of Rare from when Rare was at it's prime, and created the best shooter series out there: Timesplitters.

Blizzard takes forever on games though. This is not criticism on the quality, because they develop phenomenal games, but Rare in the SNES-N64 era were putting out high quality, unrivalled games every single year. Those 10 or so years has been unprecedented ever since then .

LucasArts from the late 80s to mid-2000s was a beast. Then they took a nose dive.

Squaresoft in the 90's. No one comes close especially because most of those games still hold up today.

I'd say that Valve and Rockstar are the most consistent developers. I'm pretty confident that they won't screw anything up.

UnrealLegend
I totally agree with this, and Nintendo is pretty good at developing games.

Dude, it's Nintendo. Obviously. We can't forget that the company exists as a developer themselves. Not only a hardware manufacterer.

However if we want to stay aware from them and stick to third parties then I would probably have to agree with you on Rare. Their N64 era was rife with a ridiculous amount of triple A games. Also Blizzard and Capcom come to mind.

Nintendo_Ownes7

The only reason I wanted to stay away from Nintendo is that it says in their prime meaning that the developer we are talking about isn't still making quality games. That is why I didn't mention Nintendo was because they have constantly made great games from 1980-present day. So they are still in their prime and haven't left their prime yet.

Ah my mistake as well. In that case, Definitely Rare. I would have said Valve, but they're still awesome, so same boat as the big N

if we're talking about primes then Naughty Dog is Wayne Greski or Micheal Jordan ... they've had abnormally long primes.

Blizzard.

I think the reviews, awards and insanely titanic number of subscribers paying just to play it accross a 7 year plus lifespan is testament to that.
