Best First Person Shooter of the year? (poll)

What do you guys think the best fps this year is? Take into account story, features, gameplay, and fun factor

My pick is a tie between BF:BC2 and Halo Reach.

Here's some info:

BC2 - awesome multiplayer which is quite hard to get into if you are a low rank, as higher levels will slaughter you, No Co-Op despte 4 unique characters in story.

Metro 2033 - No MP, but an awesome story and some innovative mechanics

Halo Reach - Content galore,Good Story,Fun Mp, yet repetative gameplay

Cod BO - Addictive Mp, yet comletely unchanged gameplay from Cod 4, OK Story. Fun (yet completely unrelated) Zombie mode.

Plagueless

Story? Shooter? You can only pick one or the other.

Goldeneye 007 Wii wins for me! That is the only single player FPS that makes you want to play it again and again. Single player does matter folks!GoldenElementXL

If you haven't played Metro 2033 on the PC, you really aren't qualified to make judgements about it. The difference is night and day.

Halo Reach is the only one I have played out of those, and I enjoyed it. 8.5 from me so yeah, I guess that would be the best FPS of the year imo.

must. play. more. all i've played so far is reach. i want to give black ops a whirl, as well as 2033.

reach for it's fantastic campaign coudnt care fo rmultyplayer, although firefight is FUN AS HELL!!!!

I'd have to go with reach, what a great way for bungie to move on from that franchise, was truley epic imho.

Reach is one of the best shooters in the last ten years imo. It's so close to topping Halo CE, it topped both Halo 2 and Halo 3 though. Jet packs ftw.

I would say Metro 2033 for the SP and BC2 for the MP

However since I have spent over 200 hours in BC2, I have to give it the best fps recommendation.

In terms of single player it's GoldenEye. As much as I like the intense and fast paced CoD-ish campaigns, I've just enjoyed the oldschool formula more this year. Different difficulty settings, classic mode and time trial. But these things are nothing without incredible level design.

It has its fair share of average parts as well as a few meh's, but overall the campaign is stellar.

I don't really go online but from my perspective, I like both the Halo and CoD gameplay.

As much as I hate the crapload of unnecessariy stupid Black Ops love threads we get around SW by certain persons, I do think its the best FPS this year. Of course other then BC2, Halo Reach and Singularity I'd say this year was a little lacking in FPS games.

Halo... BFBC2 is a incredibly game.. Still play when not playing halo. But Halo gameplay and modes are just insane. Metro def game im gonna play it looks awesome. Cod is now just trash.. Cod1 Cod2and Cod4 are the good ones. BO and Wow and MF2 were either trash or a crappy expansion. Will say its gameplay is really good buts the exact same game every yr.

objectify speaking, halo reach is the best shooter this year. just saying.

Bad Company 2 is my favorite of the year. Looking back, it was a really lackluster year for the genre.

I could very well say the same thing about Halo. I don't consider any game that relies on auto aim to play well. Auto aim =/= skill and that's why I laugh when people say games like Halo take more skill than say, Battlefield. Also Reach's AI might as well be in a vegitative state. If they're not standing out in the open where NPCs can shoot them and not taking any cover at all, they're rushing straight at you with an energy sword (and failing.) At least Goldeneye's AI knew how to take cover.
