Fallout 3 doesn't count as an FPSRPG because you can go into third person.

JangoWuzHere

Ummm ya a third person view which makes the game pretty much unplayable at times. Are you serious?

TPP works well on the console version of fallout 3, i mostly use TPP out in the open and FPP when indoors or in combat.

It took me a bit to decide whether to choose Deus Ex or SS2, but I went with Deus Ex.

I don't play the PC version of FO3 right now, because my current PC can barely run it.

Really, it's a matter of preference, but i find it good to use certain viewpoints for certain scenarios.

Also, in TP, you cn change your view angle and get some really cool screenshots.

I wouldn't call bioshock a RPG.. It doesn't have sidequests or anything, & theres only one real "choice" is to let the little sisters live or not.. You can find these choices in many FPS such as far cry...

Fallout 3 got my vote..

Agreed.

Awesome moral decisions? Its about as shallow as it can get, hell everything compelling about it was lost within the third harvest / not harvest choice.. The endings were horrible, based off the choices that lose significance as you progress....

I don't really consider Bioshock or Stalker even part RPGs, haven't played original DE or SS2, so I gotta go with FO3, it was pretty good though I wouldn't call it FPSRPG either since you can play in 3rd person and use vats.

If only everyone could have the chance to play SS2, then everyone would know that it's one of the best games ever... up there with Half-Life2 and Starcraft

System Shock 2 is a fantastic game.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. is a great game.
BioShock is a really good game.
Fallout 3 is a good game.

Deus Ex is the greatest achievement in all of human civilization, a game whose creation caused the gods to bow down to man.

MetroidPrimePwn

Pretty much this, yeah. There really isn't room for argument, especially with Fallout 3...are you serious right now? I've played that game to oblivion and its not nearly as good as Deus Ex.

Bioshock pretty much has no RPG elements...at least by comparison.

Yeah it's like saying Dead Space is an RPG, in fact you can upgrade more things in DS than Bioshock to be honest.

The reason behind that is that System Shock 2 sold like 5 copies, and S.T.A.L.K.E.R.s sales were all in Europe (I don't think it even broke 50,000 in America, where as it sold over a million in Europe)

Heh, actually that is very true..... The only thing Bioshock has in comparison is the 'moral choices', and quite frankly, the significance of which are very questionable....

Deus Ex followed closely by System Shock 2. The others are all great, too.

Dues Ex was good for its time, but lets move on, games have gotten more complex. And STALKER is simply a disc filled with bugs and potential, but mainly bugs...

The problem with the poll is that you can't rank your choises. The people who are most likely to have played SS2 are definitely going to also have played Deus Ex. They're likely to have DX first and SS2 second, with the others being far behind. But as it is now, SS2 seems like the worst of the lot.

In any case I voted for DX, because, simply, it IS the best game of the lot, and that's not in relative terms - as in, it was much better for its time than the modern games for theirs - but, its much better in absolute terms than the others. It really is just that good of a game, and personally I feel the only way you cannot at lease enjoy it even today even if personally you don't think of it as the best game ever, is if you're completely incapable of looking at anything beyond modern graphics.

Who was it that said Bioshock had real moral choises btw? I'm sorry but to me, Bioshock was both a bad game, and the so called moral choises were completely artificial. The only real choice in any case was whether to harvest or not the girls, and it felt completely like a video game mechanic - leave alone the fact that you really had no reason not to choose the good path as you actually got better rewards for doing so.

In contrast, DX seems to me one of the very few games in which you actually do feel as if you make a moral choice, and it affects the way you play in much more subtle ways. Its not so much that you feel it as a game mechanic, as the fact that the world feels so real, you think about what you do, and often what you do is much more complex than a simple 'good' or 'bad' choice. Its just the way the characters and people in the game seem so much more complex and real, in very rare instances do you feel as if you are killing a truly 'evil' person. While the ones you end up hating the most, are the least 'violent' in nature of the bunch.

If I could vote twice I'd choose Deus Ex and System Shock 2. I couldn't vote one higher or lower than the other.
