Halo 3, followed by Call of Duty 4

HL2 Episode 2 for singleplayer, BF Bad Company for multiplayer.

Crysis,Stalker (1st one) and cryostasis

Crysis/Killzone 2.

Crysis for single player, Counterstrike: Source for multiplayermarkop2003

Shadow of Chernobyl, followed closely by Crysis.

Halo 3, No shooter comes close.

I'm not a great FPS gamer (yet but am getting more into the genre)but this gen I have really enjoyed KZ2 and I did like Halo 3 when I had it. COD4 was fun fo multi-player when I played at a friend's house.

Imo its between Halo3, Bad Company and Left4Dead

Single Player: Fallout 3

Multiplayer: Halo 3 by a long shot

STALKER/TF2/L4D/Crysis are all a step above the rest.

On topic: Halo 3... I don't play many FPS's and Halo 3 and CoD 3 are the only FPS's I've bought this gen :)

Anyways, the best I've played this year was S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl and Team Fortress 2. I really think anyone who says otherwise has not played them, and/or doesn't know a quality shooter when it... shoots them in the face.

The Orange Box if that counts as one. TF2 is the best online FPS and EP2+Portal are enough to make it the best SP as well.

Call of Duty 4 for me.

Crysis and Crysis Warhead were pretty awesome, STALKER, Team Fortress 2, Halo 3, Call of Duty 4, Left 4 Dead, Killzone 2, The Orange Box :P. Loved all of those a lot... Then there are still a lot more smaller time shooters that were a lot of fun, The Darkness, etc.

Can't really pick just one, for me they all brought something of their own, but if there was one that was the best, it would have to be Crysis for single player and Halo 3/Left 4 Dead for multiplayer.

Team Fortress 2 for me. Probably the most fun i've ever had in a multiplayer game.

Online- Killzone 2

Halo 3. Its just the most fun out of all of them. Its just the insane jumping, colors, and explosions its just pure fun, especially when your playing with a bunch of friends online, it doesnt get much better

Very near my picks, I just had Crysis/Stalker for singleplayer FPS and TF2 for online :P

COD4 hands down, no competition whatsoever except for Halo 3. I say that mainly because these 2 games come closest to the highest levels of popularity with the general public. No casual will know what Crysis is or really appreciate it, but everyone enjoys COD 4 and Halo 3, these 2 games have lasted quite a while with a community that is still strong with CASUALS.
