No portal doesn't count, and I feel like it was a waste of money... 44$ for 4 hours QQ I hope Deus Ex is the best fps, but this year's kinda crazy for FPS', BF3 is the only one I fully trust to be good. Rage looks like it could be pretty good.
Since I rather think of Portal 2 as a puzzle game, Id say the best FPS so far is Crysis 2, but not for long most likely. I think Brink will be awesome, BF3 is looking amazing and Rage might mix just enough Fallout into a proper FPS that it will become my favorite FPS of the year.
So far I'd say Crysis 2. Battlefield 3 is looking good, but I have my doubts about the gunplay, and that is the main important thing a FPS. . But thinking about FPS just make me realize how Valve should announce HL3 already!

It takes place in the first person......aaaaand you shoot things. Of course it counts. I need a new tv to play any games, but this will be the first one I get. Unsure as to which version though.
At the moment, if we're not counting Portal 2, which is by far the best game of the year as of yet, then I'd say either Bulletstorm or Crysis 2. By the end of the year, I don't know - we're all pretty sure Battlefield 3 is gonna be great, but it could easily be beaten by something else, for example RAGE or Deus Ex HR, and Brink, provided it all fits together properly, could be fantastic.
