My personal favorite was the Gamecube, but, then again, it was the console that dragged me away from being a mainly PC gamer...

Metroid Prime (1 and 2), Pikmin (1 and 2), RE4, SSBM, Tales of Symphonia, Windwaker, and a few others kept me happy for a loooooong time.

I would second that. GC was my first really current and up to date console and it was awesome.

Gamecube? WTF? lol, ok whatever. Your opinion. It's just funny that's all. Actually no...Funny would be someone saying the Wii.

I loved that little purple cube. It's unique charme drew me away from my beloved PC (well, actually it was my brother's PC) and into the world of console gaming. Though I would have liked it if I were capable of having a decent PC of my own, I am quite content with my choice of getting a Gamecube (got it the day after launch and it's still working-heck, I even still have the launch controllers!).

Just remember these words: your mileage may vary :)

Ah, if only everyone here adopted that catchphrase...

Did you ever own an N64? snes?

No. In case you didn't notice, I said it was my first console :)

Well in my case I have been a gamer since the Atari 2600, I was 4 when my Dad bought it, althought I didn't play it much, my gaming really started with the NES and ever since I have had a console every generation and for me my list is this one.

1. N64 ------- I just loved it. Still play it

2. SNES ------- Very, very close with the N64. Gave it to my nephews, they love it!

3. NES ---- This is where all started, I had a ton of games

4. PS2 ---- It's still great

5. Dreamcast ------ Awesome!! short life cycle! I used alot of burned games and it died on me! I miss my Marvel vs. Capcom 2

This is hard. It's a 3-way tie.

NES: Was my first ever video gam system, so I have a lot of fond memories with it.

N64: For the time the grapchis were awesome and It got me to like Football games ( the ones on PS were crappy compared to N64)

Dreamcast: Was a great system, this is when I started to really get into games more. The online was sweet and I spent countless hours playing PSO with friends. I also had soo many burned games with it, plus it never gave me any problems.

SNES, hands down. Too many classics to even consider listing off the top of my head.

NES...I still own about 150 games from when I was a kid and still play about five hours a week of classic NES goodness. Recently just finished up Maniac Mansion, Rygar, Castlevania, Mega Man 2 , Star Tropics and Duck Tales. Getting ready to play some Contra, Metroid, Adventure Island, Super Pitfall, Bionic Commando, and LOLO 2 soon. Today my goal is to get through Little Nemo and maybe a little Milons Secret Castle. There are way too many great NES games for me to not name it my #1.

It's been shown time and time to be PS2. It used to be SNES for the longest time, until maybe 1-2 years ago, when PS2 took the title.

I'm going to have to say Wii... but in a kinda iffy way.

The wii incorporates my favorite console of all time, the Gamecube into it completely, and it also has VC.

VC has a lot of possibilities, but it's definitely not the same as being able to pop in n64 game.

Also, it plays Wii games. Super Mario Galaxy. Brawl. So on.

1)PS2 - An aging console with thriving titles well past the end of its "theoretical" lifespan

2)SNES - King Home Console of the >32Bit Era

I would definitely have to say...the Sega Genesis. Never was there a bigger improvement in game graphics than the jump from 8-bit to 16-bit. Seems kinda funny to think of systems in terms of "bits" now! Yes there were more powerful systems that came out during the Genesis' lifespan, but who could afford a Neo-Geo??? The difference in looks between "super mario brothers" or any other NES games and "altered beast" was just plain mind-blowing to me at the time. A far bigger difference than the PS2 to the PS3 or X-BOX 360. I'm not an expert, and I'm sure that next generations consoles probably at least double their predecessors in power, but now it's more incremental and not nearly as noticable. A jump like we had from 8-bit to 16-bit will never be duplicated again.
