Nothing special except our furniture are all custom-built. Usually, my pc is in the den. The beige mid-tower is my wife's which is usually in the master bedroom. When we have relatives stay over, a lot of things get displaced.......

My pc in the family room. My daughter usually has first dibs on the tv in there. That's her Wii.

[QUOTE="HonkyTonkGamer"]32 in 720P 360 with monster cable for best imageHonkyTonkGamer

Ouch, you got scammed :(

That cable transfers a digital signal..a cheap $5 HDMI cable would perform the exact same job and display the same bit-perfect image.

I feel sorry for the people who get tricked into buying this stuff. Hopefully you didn't pay too much for it.

Don't question my game knowledge and gameing hardware knowledge. First of all. The only reason I have the one TV at 720 beucase a 32in 720P and 1080P are no different and you would only notice that if you go about 42in and above. Mainly 50in and above. And yes I assure you that the Monster cable is very exspensive. But money is not an issue with my gaming. I have tested and why it is small and not worth it to most. They do offer a tad better image and better color. And you have a tad darker blacks also. Again not much and not a big deal to most but they do. Is it worth $60 no it is not but for a gamer like me it is. becuase they do offer what I just said a tad it is little but it is a tad.

Non the less I have HDMI on both PS3 and other 360 in my basement.

With all this said it is my 720P upstairs setup that I enjoy the most. With the 5.1 logitech sound and speaker mouted on the wall. And I run my RC red and white sound cables from 360Monster directly into the Logitech system is sounds amazing. This is my faverite room to game in. It's small more confined and it's perfect it is really sweet.

why arent you using toslink cables for surround sound? kinda defeats the purpose of having a surround sound system.

I've posted in way too many of these threads.

TotheTC:

You got burned. Monster cables are a ripoff. 85 percent markup FTL. The only time you should spend extra on digital cable such as HDMI is when you are running more than 50 ft of it. For short runs a 5 dollar cable will do.

nice deduction skills their its clearly the fact that there is a sd tv in the pic that makes it creepy. Couldn't be the combination of a pic of Saturo Iwata on the wall, strange writing on the wall the fact that it on concrete in the corner of a unfinished basement with nothing but a orange towel and a t.v on a fruit crate no no its clearly the SD that makes it incredibly creepy!

I don't mind SDTV. We have a few still in use. We tend to replace stuff through attrition. Unfortunately, SDTVs nowadays are very durable as are the 19" LCD monitors I'm using. I wish one of them would break so I can buy me a much bigger monitor.

in my bedroom i got a samsung 40` 240hz lcd hdtv with a 250 gig ps3 slim. i need a good surround system for both tvs but just one would be great. maybe a all in one system with a blu ray player to take the stress off my ps3 from playing movies.

He is right. High quality HDMI cables are a total waste of time and exploit our belief that they must be worth it because speaker cable and component cables were. of course these were analogue signals that would degrade over the length of a copper cable. a digital signal will either work or not ( a 0 or a 1) meaning the cable has no way of increasing the quality of the signal that leaves the source. to do this the cable would have to be an active component. but its not a cable is passive. i do agree that over very long length a better cable will reduce the chances of digital data not making it to the device. but it will not INCREASE the quality of the image or improve the colours. would a higher quality USB cable give a better quality print to your printer or a better sounding MP3 to your digital music player ?

There can be absolutely no difference in the quality of image when you use a digital interface (like HDMI), if the cable works. Lower priced products might be more prone to failure, but if they work, the signal getting into the display is bit for bit identical.

Analog signals on the other side (like RGB) are dependent on the cable length and quality.

Do you actually use the dynamic contrast? 2 million : 1 is a nice number, but pretty meaningless. Probably makes a black suit look like deep space. Anyway, sweet TV. LED TVs have come the closest to Plasmas in black level of any LCDs yet. 55" is also a nice touch :)

[QUOTE="Messiahbolical-"]The 55", 2,000,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio, 1080p, 240hz beast in the living room:  lockjaw333

Although I agree that 2,000,000 is only a nice number on paper... every time I turn on this TV I can see with my own eyes the superiority to most other TVs. I really recommend this TV. The picture on it is really pretty much flawless. Top notch quality. It's also loaded with features. 5 HDMI ports, smooth motion technology, USB port for media, dynamic backlight that senses how dark the room it is and changes the lighting to optimize the picture, and it uses WAY less energy than plasmas. Another thing I like about it over plasmas, NO GLARE AT ALL. Also, since it's LED based technology... it could theoretically last multiple lifetimes. If anyone on here is looking for a high quality 55" at a great value, buy this TV.

only low to mid range plasmas have glare. My Elite has anti glare along the surface and 2 sensors. Alight sensor to adjust brightness of the screenand a second one which detects colour and constantly adapts the TV to the colour of the room for that perfect picture.
