Aw man I almost teared up watching that again. Hadn't seen it since I was really young but I remember every single part of it. As soon as you said it the song played in my head and I was saying "Transcending history and the world" So epic

Namco-Bandai could take all of my money if they made an HD remake of that game and didn't f*ck with the combat. It's one game I actually want to see get that treatment.

Don't know what the exact specifications are to be considered an intro, but here are my favorites in no particular order.
Left 4 Dead
God of War 3
Civilization 4 and 5
Arkham Asylum
Bioshock 1 and 2
Fallout 3
Metal Gear Solid 2
Super Smash Bros 1and 2(Brawl was nothing more than a montage of scenes already in the game)
Banjo Kazooie
And I suppose all of Blizzard's CGI intros :P
um ...there is no opinion to it bro, the two games don't really work and shoot the same :P MGS 2 had more of a fixed moving camera, and the shooting was done in first person if you wanted to aim precisely. RE 4 kept the camera always behind Leon, and the over the shoulder was implemented so you could aim freely. The only similarities the two games have is that leon's walkie talkie is basically codec lol.[QUOTE="jg4xchamp"][QUOTE="casharmy"]
Well dat's like...you konw, my opinion man :P
and I always went into the cabin for some reason...
casharmy
yeah that too...agree to disagree, you even admit that in the red.
Dude, RE4 is over-the-shoulder aiming and MGS2 is consistently a top-down birds-eye camera angle, as is third-person shooting. And the intro sequence for both games are totally different. Trolling?TC is a mega weeaboo.

I like very few media coming from the west. Beside music and movies I really don't like much else. It's just that Japanese creativity can't be matched and I love the fact that they acknowledge violence, sex and stuff which most of the western media doesn't even dares to and are always hiding behind an artistic wall when trying something new.
When you watch anime like Ghost in the Shell and Zeta Gundam and have been playing their games since when you were a kid (Mario, Zelda, etc.) you learn to appreaciate Japanese entertainment. When I play western games I find most of them to be so boring because of their realism and nothing about them ever surprises me. Games like GTA, Battlefield, Skyrim, Crysis, Dragon Age, Killzone they all bore me to death. The very few western games I like are: Deus Ex, Uncharted, God of War, Rainbow Six, Fear Effect, Legacy of Kain, Mass Effect and I really can't think about anything else at the moment.
I mean, where else you'll find genres like: guro, netorare, cartoon sex, tentacles of sex, kids beating a god and saving the world, adults cosplaying, etc.? Japanese people look boring on the outside but in the inside they all have some crazy imagination (and don't jump on me for generalizing!). But to be honest, I haven't been a fan or current Japanese entertainment though. The new anime trends, idol obsessions, garbage games like Neptunia... I'm not liking any of it.
Anyway, this is why I don't and never will like the Xbox. I feel like a Japanese console will always have the most support from Japan and they are the ones that make the games that I care the most.

Final Fantasy VI =http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RDMWp1oLoA0
First two that come to mind
I actually thought Max Payne 3's was very powerful. Call of Duty 4's first gameplay level followed by the logo was just epic too
red dead redemptionWe have a thread about your favorite game but what about the best intro? Look around youtube and post as many as you want. Which ones are your favorites? And by intro I mean any kind, it doesn't matter if it's the one before or after the start menu. It can be from any gen...
MGS4 Best I've seen so far. Period.
Chrono Trigger You just have to hear the music and the anxiety will consume you.
Chrono Cross I just like it.
FF8 Pretentious as hell but still good. Easily the most artistic intro of all the FF games to date.
Megaman 8 Can't deny it. The intro isn't that good but the nostalgia factor and cheesy music....
Yakuza 3 This game man, this game... Underrated as hell. I already got the fourth one but haven't been able to play it yet.
Super Metroid I don't know how they did it but they did it. And the thing is that it is so simple yet so amazing at the same time. In part Nintendo should be grateful to Sony for that sound chip, they could have end up with a super crappy one like the Sega Genesis.

i agree
The GTA IV blows my mind every time:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9VS6mgnnKog(The first 4 minutes.) Especially when that music kicks in at 0:20.
F.E.A.R.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1-QfrYhn2gQAmazing sense of dread. The music at 1:20.. how can that not move you?!
Mass Effecthttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5tBFPy8sauwAgain, this one is all about the music. It's the beginning of one of the most amazing journeys in videogame history.
Modern Warfare 2http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Tn2zuMbuFMI know the hate for COD is strong on this forum, but you can't deny the awesomeness of this intro.
Bioshockhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZgDEh3UN404Can't talk about videogame intros without mentioning this one. When Rapture is first revealed at 4:25, I almost piss my pants.
Probably many more that I can't remember at the moment.
[QUOTE="princeofshapeir"][QUOTE="casharmy"]Agreed, MGS4's intro is just silly. He says "war has changed" about 10 times. Like most of MGS4, the writing is bloated and unnecessarily verbose.MGS2/MGS3 intro >>>>>>>> MGS4 intro all daydommeus
Most of MGS4 itself is bloated anyway

All newer anime are flash and no substance, it's either a bunch of fan service or over the top action, both of which get really repetitive fast. On topic I forgot to mention Hitman Blood Money, I still remember those lines, "I'm your friend, so I let you have it, but as your friend I beg you not to use it..."Please Log In to post.
