I'll go with Uncharted 2. Only experience I had with RDR was trying it out on the 360 in a store but I'd never call it good looking without adding "for a console sandbox game".
[QUOTE="Final_attack321"][QUOTE="THE_MATRlX"]I don't own neither the console nor the games. But I have played them, playing through a few missions of Killzone 2 and getting up to around the 15th or 14th mission (I cant remember, its the one with the train wreck) at a friends house.
...or do I have to own the games and the console to formulate an opinion? THE_MATRlX
Certianly not, but it's alot more credible than "I played it at my friends house" argument when trying to make a judgement on the games you're talking about.
And I'm not really saying your opinion is wrong, (I haven't played RDR myself) but if you come to others trying to establish a fact only using your opinion with limited access to the product your talking about it comes off as weak.
BTW: are there any reviews and or articles posted after the game released that nominate it as the best looking game on consoles to help validate your opinion?
Limited access? Most people don't play through Uncharted 2's campaign after they've finished it. I played through most of it, and I think that's more than enough. Yes, I've only blasted through four or five "levels" of Killzone 2 (including the last mission) and from what I've heard, there's not too much that I missed (graphics wise). An opinion is an opinion. I don't need the confirmation of game reviewers from any publication to formulate my opinion. You also seem to have forgotten how there have been other people who have nominated Red Dead as one of the best looking games on consoles and how it has been said time after time after time after time before in other threads. So, let me get this straight, professional reviewers and journalists aren't credible but systemwars fanboys are? lol, I'll just leave you with that, since you won't go anywhere with that argument.
Judging by the fact that you revoke the notion of even trying to find a professional opinion of someone in the industry who agrees with your opinion shows that you don't think anyone ever has, meaning that your opinion is one of no substance.
People (reviewers/game journists) in the industry HAVEplayed all the games that have come out in the proper fasion unlike you, that's why their opion is more credible than yours in this matter. Also they don't hold any illogical bias toward any system or platform to pretend like one game is better than another when it isn't.
Your opinion is fine with me but if all you have is systemwars fanboys to back you up, it isn't going to change anything.
No way RDR, ok it's scale is nice but it is not as pretty to look at as Uncharted2, in fact its no where near.
RDR is very nice for an open-world game. The vistas are stunning and the character models are surprisingly good.
All in all though i'll have to give it to UC2. I also think Alan Wake is fantastic in it's environments, though lackluster in terms of character models.
Seriously, Red Dead: Redemption made my jaw drop more so than Uncharted 2 and Killzone 2 combined. Proof that a lush landscape and inspired art direction always trumps generic and industrial landscapes with a microscopic palette. THE_MATRlXDid you even play Uncharted 2?
They're much better on the 360. There's more foliage, better lighting, smoother shadows, more shadows and less pop-in with the vegetation.[QUOTE="THE_MATRlX"][QUOTE="SuprmanLuvHandl"]
I wasn't impressed by RDR's graphics when I rented it for PS3. Should I get it for the 360?
SuprmanLuvHandl
Ok I'll check it out. When I first played the game it seriously looked like a PS2 game. I did go "" on a few occasions when I rode around on my horse and saw the landscapes though.
PS2 game seriously? The game looked great on the PS3 especially the background. I found the character models subpar except for JM. They looked the same except had different wigs on(very bland)? LOL. UC2 definitely had better character models though I might have give background and draw distance to RDR.
YES, finally someone who didn't use the term graphics king.
Anyway, i think it's between RDR and MGS4, of course, from the games i own, RDR looks great, but MGS4 has some hell of character models.
On the other hand, BlazBlue is really, really pretty.
