Best Music in a game? ever?

Ok so i would like to know what you guys think has the best music in a game.....it can be any game right down for the NES to the Modern day.

For me i think Halo 1 has the best, every time music played in that game, it fited perfectly, from escaping from the The pillar of autumn, to finding the flood, then the best part, driving to the pelican in a warthog only to see it being blown up by banshees with a Minute and a half to go, and then cortana saying that theres one fighter left in the docking bay and that you might make it if you move now, and wow the fast powering halo music kicks in straight away with expolsions everywhere and flood and covernment running away. wow i still get adreniline from playing that part.

So anyways guys whats you're favourite music from any game? if we get enough votes i might start a poll.

First Zelda (NES) Dungeon music. All of the Castlevania:SoTN soundtrack (except I am the wind) and God of War 2.

I can't get some ofthe Ocarina of Time songs out my head.

I can't decide between Sounds of Mute City (F-Zero GX), Green Hill Zone (the original Sonic),and Yoshimitsu's theme (Tekken 3).

How could you leave out all those SNES n Genesis games. That music slaughtered everything else today, lol.

Man those Streets of Rage games had plenty of goodies.

Few of my favorites, in no particular order.

Final Fantasy IV
Mega Man 2
Bust a Groove (the rhythm game on the PS1)
Metroid

One that hasn't been mentioned yet are the Kirby soundtracks.

As VG music listener there's no way a GS poll will do justice.

As well there's just too much great music there so I can't say there's a definite best either.

hitman deserves to be up there. How could you not love in blood money when at the end you get up during your own funeralwhile that song Ave Maria plays, and waste everyone in the church grounds? Anyway, i like halo, hitman, metroid prime, and umm... lots of games i can't remeber.

Alfred chicken SNES (j/k)

I thought the original Metroid Prime had a stunning soundtrack, and I would actually buy that soundtrack, but my favourite game music is Starcraft's. Such an epic, and fitting score, I think it is part of the reason that Starcraft has "that" atmosphere which makes it so brilliant. I'm particularly fond of the Terran score, however the Zerg also have a very cool score.

The Donkey Kong series has also always had very catchy themes (from DK Country onwards) to DK 64, so I'm fond of them.

I just wish games would make use of composers like Klaus Badelt & John Williams for their scores - I think that would really help a lot of games to get the atmosphere some movies have.

Halo gets my vote.

Special mention goes to Jet Set Radio Future (Not in the poll) because that was way funky and rad. ;)
