Alyx Vance
She is likable. Her character is great and you always enjoy her company. Half Life 2 already had great characterization but Episode One and Two improved it further, and gave her character more depth.
Not only that but her AI is also pretty solid and she kills shit ton of enemies in Half Life 2's Episodes. You don't have to babysit her, instead she saves your ass more than once during gameplay itself.
* list of 500 Bioware NPCs *
You mean the same over recycled archetypes done over and over?
Never saw Noober (Baldur's Gate 1) in any subsequent titles. Never saw Cole (Dragon Age: Inquisition) in any previous titles.
It's ok. Success breeds jealousy and hate ;)
Cortana, my dream girl, is my pick as well.
Yeah, I wouldn't have thought of it, but Beth Wilder is a cool character.

When you get to the end and find out her actually story it's like **** that's tragic. I really hope they make a sequel where you can rescue her, They sure left it open for that
Borderlands 2 Claptrap absolutely no competition for me. Funniest fukker in any computer game, ever.
Skyrim: Dawnguard - Serana (aka the kinder version of Rayne)
Skyrim vanilla - Aela the Huntress
ED-E - Fallout: New Vegas
Garrus and Tali - Mass Effect
Pikachu - Pokemon Yellow
Any pet - Torchlight
Corrudoth from EQ1. LVL 5, trivial mob that you used to con your friends into attacking by saying "I bet you 5k plat you cant beat that low level turtle over there".
For a lvl 5 mob Corrudoth had over 50,000 HP, insane armour count and was 100% resistant to all magic ...except a druid ability called Dire Charm which allowed any lvl 45+ druid to take command of him and solo anything in the zone, including Lodizal who at the time would usually take two full groups of around 12 people to kill.
@darkangel115: Same here. Take the positives build from there. The combat was fun so broaden on that.
I'm going to have to say Alyx Vance, GLaDOS, and Wheatley. Valve sure knows how to write excellent NPCs.
Also...hmm...Dalboz of Gurth?
Captain Toad in super mario galaxy 1 & 2, man put his life in danger and showed the other toads if you go the extra mile you can get your own game.
One of my favs is the Dark shadowy figure from Tie Fighter. It felt like the Emperor himself was watching my every move.
I liked the NPCs in Dragon Age. As you walk around they often have conversations with each other. And these conversations will vary depending on who is in your team. I like how you can customize their behaviors....for instance you could customize the healer to heal you whenever your health drops below 25%,etc.
I liked the Familiars in CastleVania Symphony of the Night. It's nice how you could level them up, the Sword looked really cool.
Skyrim: Dawnguard - Serana (aka the kinder version of Rayne)
Skyrim vanilla - Aela the Huntress
Vanilla: J'zargo
Modded: Cerwiden
