[QUOTE="404-not-found"][QUOTE="karasill"] Uhm no, you get a more varied experience on the PC, simple as that, you have the biggest and most varied library in gaming only lacking fighters. karasill

PC is a platform that is predominantly filled with shooters, RTS's, sims, and MMORPG's. I walk into a walmart and 95% of all PC games on the shelves belong to one of those genres. Where are my fighters? Where are my platformers? Where are my JRPG's? Where are my sports games? Where are my third person action games (God of War, Heavenly sword, Uncharted type games)

Aside from MMORPG's, getting all three consoles as opposed to a PC will get you a more varied gaming experience. Consoles have third and first person shooters, racers, and even RTS's. I love PC gaming as I'm mostly aPC gamer but I can at least acknowledge this. The PC isn't the end all be all of a gaming experience. Some of you hermits have too much blind pride in the PC.

I think you may just be ignorant. Try this: Steampowered.com

Easily the 3 consoles. You get WAY more exclusives than the PC, and for every multiplat that is watered down dor the consoles, there is one for the PC.

DarthBilf

You too. Try the above link.

Geez walmart? At least use Steam. In the steam game genre page, I see action, adventure, strategy, RPG, indie, casual, racing, sports, simulation.

I do use steam, but a lot of the games on their arent very good.

There are over 30 or 40 games on there that are rated 80 or above on the Metascore. How is that not very good?

EDIT: Okay, I just counted and there are over 100 games that are rated 80 or above.

You dont have to link me steam, infact I'm always logged on. And in the first page, most of those games are infact shooters, RTS's, and sim type games. Sure you have your good indie game here and there but for the most part the PC is predominantly filled with shooters, RTS's, sims, and MMORPG's.

Doesn't change anything. The PS3 has 93 games with a metascore of 80 or higher. That's not counting the Xbox 360 or Wii.

My opinion all three consoles...why console last longer in the long run you spend your morre money on games instead of upgradig hardware., if you hav the fastest gaming PC now by next yr its obsolete. Console games usually runs with the best visual possible..but pc of course wtill hav the best image quality overall.

Now correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't a lot of PC games not reviewed? In that case, you should actually try out the games for yourselves instead of listening to reviews. That's PC gaming.

lol fastest PC now is obsolete next year?!? AHHAHAHAHAHAHAH... so i take it that wasnt supposed to be a joke?PCgamer687

Why isit a joke? ..that the difference between console & PC, PC can usually run games &@ better quaility settings.. if you buy the fastest system now mostlikely you're want to run all games @ maximum quality settings...this the trend with PC games..you prolly will run current games minus (Crysis) @ max quality setting but in a years time however..they're will be a game that just tear it apart.

You think in a years time or 2 years time your current PC will still be able to run the future games @ max settings? no? ...but console em how old is XBOX 360 now?

hey if you're talking abt PC running just games even @ low/fugly quality settings then of course, it will last....but in this case console will look better.

FPS & RTS type games are generally better on PC, due to the keyboard & mouse control..

Console games 40 pounds, PC games 17-26 pounds, do the mathematics :Dclembo1990

in UK maybe, but not in Aust the price are abt the same ..if you shop wisely.

Not running games on Max settings doesn't make a PC obsolete. Running games at low settings at good FPS is perfectly fine for me.

Kind of defeats the purpose of pc gaming if you cant run games at least somewhat near the level as a console.

That's cool, you can try to argue with preferences all you want. I'm the opposite. Fighters get boring after a while, sports games aren't my bag and I've grown out of JRPG's. Platformers are decent but that's about it.

But you were telling lies. "getting all three consoles as opposed to a PC will get you a more varied gaming experience." You said that. When we have platformers, fighters, sports games and JRPG's. Albiet they aren't the largest selections, we still have them. So sorry, I was just calling out your lie.

Of course not. At the end of the day, this entire discussion is more or less meaningless because the final deciding factor is your personal opinion. We can attempt to objectively rate the systems, but everyone is obviously going to have varying opinions. If you prefer the consoles, then of course, they are better for you. No one is trying to tell you what you should enjoy.

Still, I think it's important to remember that this whole discussion arose when talking about which system had better more, better games. Critically, the answer is the PC. As for your opinion, I don't presume to know what it is, nor what it should be.

Just because better hardware comes out doesn't mean you need to upgrade :|, also if you have a top of the line PC right now your games will look better than ALL the console counter parts till the end of this gen.

Just pointing the advantage PC has over console diminish quickly over a short time, in terms of graphics...it will hav the maximum best quality & playable with games of todayBUT in future (even 1 or 2 yrs)it prolly won't be the case.

I didn'tsay there's anything wrong withplaying @ low quality setting..obsolete is prolly too strong a word :P

On the flip side, PC can handle mods. Vanilla Oblivion looks like garbage, however when touched up with a few mods, it can easily stack up against most games in the graphics department except for the graphic titans like Crysis, Empire: Total War, etc etc.

PC doesnt have very good platformers, fighters, and not as many sports games and JRPG's as consoles. I wasnt lying. Just because PC has a few games from those genres doesnt mean you can count it in and act like it's in the same league as consoles. Consoles are more varied and I'm sticking with that.

Wow, you seem to be missing the point. Let's see, we'll be getting Street Fighter 4, we have a thing called MAME that works pretty well. We'll be getting The Last Remnant, and we have FF7 and FF8. See, here is the part you're missing. We have more simulations/indie games than you could ever get your little head around. All of those indie games have so many genres that you wouldn't even know what to do.

o i should have made it more clear, this wasnt supposed to be a buy best PC or buy 3 consoles, it was more of a "someone offers you the best gaming PC ever, or a bundle all 3 current gen consoles what would you take?"

I far prefer the PC. For an objective comparison, the PC has a far greater 8.0 + exclusive count than all three consoles combined, greater genre variety than any two or less consoles combined, but less genre variety to all three combined, and it dominates the multiplat scene. It also has a vastly larger selection of controllers and online gaming services, plus user-created content which can extend the lifespan of your games tenfold.

Personally, all three consoles. Really the only thing a PC has that Consoles dont are MMO's, RTS;s, and Crysis. I've done the whole maxed out WoW character, RTS's aren't my thing, and I dont mind analog FPS control. So consoles have more to offer my tastes.

Superior OSX? Does not compute. :P

the macboys never fail to bring the "lulzzz"

As a Mac user myself, I nearly fell of my chair when he said that. Superior pfft, oh how I hate apple. Might just use mac for logic in future and go back to a proper PC for all else. I think the GBA gets more games than this thing.

My opinion all three consoles...why console last longer in the long run you spend your morre money on games instead of upgradig hardware., if you hav the fastest gaming PC now by next yr its obsolete. Console games usually runs with the best visual possible..but pc of course wtill hav the best image quality overall.

Except that maxgil2 is wrong. While PC tech improves by leaps and bounds, it doesn't make your PC obsolete within a year (ridiculous)as PC games are usually very scalable according to hardware. Game devs are not idiots, they want their games to be marketable to the widest range of pc users. Catering solely to the extreme PC users is a VERY bad idea. My PC is THREE YRS old but i'm still playing all the latest games at high settings, unless the game engine is badly optimised. wrt OP : I would get the PC obviously. Higher end PCs are a little more expensive than consoles but I can play all sorts of games AND do other stuffs like gfx editing/music editing/web designs/programming etc etc., something that consoles can never give me. PC's can also be used to play oldergames, even ancient ones if you know your stuffs. Some consoles limits the kind of games you can play to only the current gem. In other words, there are too many restrictions on a console while the PC allows you to do almost anything you want, as long as you know how to do it.
