Sighing at reality, eh? SMG is the highest scoring game this gen on GameRankings, and it outscored R&C by a mile on Gamespot. I'm a R&C fanboy, even often saying it was one of the most beautiful games this gen in SW's, but to say it plays better and is just better, lol... eh... no!

Sorry If I am not herded into liking the 500th mario game.
Your reason for disliking it is because there are too many Mario games? Wow! There are more 3D Ratchet games than there are 3D Mario games.

Why even bother arguing with the guy who said 7.5? Just because SMG beat Ratchet in Clank in scores, does not mean you will like it better.Ratchet and Clank looks better, plays better and is just better sorry to disappoint you.jliebelas someone who used to iwn R&C:FTOD, its graphics might be better but after beating all of both, SMG easily beats R&C. i mean did ratchet and friends die in a black hole in the end only to discover they'd been hanging out with god the whole time and god told them even evil ppl (bowser) can be good again and then returned to a new land in a new galaxy? nope. SMG's ending syrprised me, it was challenging and ratchet needs to slow down. what 6 or 7 r&c games in 7 years? geez. at least mario tries really hard every 5 or 6 years.
Truly a masterpiece.
Also, am I the only person who thinks this is one of the best looking games this gen? Sure, it may not be the most technically advanced game out there, but the level design and colourful environments are amazing

I agree. The level design and the artistic style come together to make one hell of a gaming experience. No matter how much a person hates the Wii, I just can't understand how someone wouldn't like SMG, especially if you're a fan of platformers.
i dunno. is there any challenge to LBP? i mean if the level design is up to users' most users' will make crappy levels. i dont consider LBP to be a platformer, more of a sim coz what do u honestly do other than run around? tell me if im missing boss battles, storyline, etc. i will still buy LBP but banjo has the best, if any chance to be a better platformer than SMGLittleBigPlanet will the the king of platformers

Yeah, same here. It was probably the most fun I have had with a game this gen

I like how you avoid comparing the gameranking R&C score to the gameranking SMG score. Gamespot scored R&C the lowest out of almost any other well known site. And I hate how people refer to gamespot's (one site!!!) score to try to make R&C looks average :|

Well I don't hate the wii and platformers (and RPGs) are my favourite genres and I didn't think all that much of smg. I completed the game 100% in no time at all. It's alot easier than its predecessors, so much so I questioned at the end of it despite earlier on really enjoying the game whether it was really worth the money. Some how if and when I get my hands on R&C, I don't think I'll have those same feelings.

R&C: ToD is shorter and much less of a platformer, so I think you'll have those feeling, but a lot worse.

Oh joy, well thats just great. I guess I'm gonna be waiting a while for a challenging platformer. Ah who am I kidding, the less mainstream genres have had to be casualised of late to have some appeal to the mainstream to get better or even just viable sales. Well I was hoping if not the main story in R&C would do it I actually heard 100% it was hard but I donno maybe not.
It seems for platformers now your alot better of to look in places like xbla, psn and wiiware because the bigger devs have little to lose here so they might try quirky and harder types of games and of course the main part the small devs trying to get a foothold in the market will try something quirky to get them noticed. So I donno stuff like lost winds, n+ and of course lbp for example.

lol you beat me to it, the guy just self-owned himself.
there has been 2 mario games(well main game + paper mario as well) per gen since n64. so 6 games in 3 gen how much r&c games are there... 5 since ps2(yes there are 4 r&c games for ps2 wow rehash harcore) then there arre a few spin offs as well.
ratchet and clank is the most rehashed game ever. al play the same and feel the same in every aspect expcept for a few funny/cool extra werapons.
