As a PS3 owner I think mario galaxy looks great but there isn't anything else on the Wii to make me want to spend $250 for a system. I was realy hoping for a big e3 anouncement to perswade me to get one. I need at least 3 or 4 more games as good as Mario galaxy before I go buy a wii.

Ah I see well its not a bad idea to get it then but I still wouldn't worry too much. If you loved windwaker you might not like tp so much but if not it might be just what your looking for :P

No matter how much a person hates the Wii, I just can't understand how someone wouldn't like SMG, especially if you're a fan of platformers.BioShockOwnz

The level of hate that Mario and other flagship Nintendo characters get on this site is insane. I don't know how you can be a gamer and bash Mario. Mario put gaming on the map and still makes CLASSICS almost every time he drops a title. Even his spin-offs are some of the highest rated games in their genre for that gen and often many gens afterwards.

Ratchet and Clank looks better, plays better and is just better sorry to disappoint you.jliebel

SMG was definately one of the best looking games so far this gen, and imo was the best playing.

Just goes to show you how far art direction goes over raw horsepower.

Reminding me of my experience with SMG :D.

This is definitely a game i'll be playing again (and again) several years down the line - and i think it is this almost intangible-nostalgic feeling that separates it from every other game and that makes it GOTY-worthy.

R&C can't compare to SMG. R&C games are awesome, don't get me wrong.

Super Mario Galaxy is just fantastic. I was replaying the game yesterday & it made me depressed no other Wii game looks as good or even close...

Before expressing my opinion let me say i have a Wii and a PS3. With this out of the way i still consider, without any doubt, that this game is the best game this generation. Its also the most visualy impressive...YES I SAID THAT!!! maybe it isnt cutting edge tech but it has one of the best artistic direction in some time and some of the most inspiring level designs too.

Its simply hard to find a game nowadays with so much talent, original ideas and effort put in. And thats why i am amazed at people calling it crap, either they never played it or they are just blind fanboys making fools of themselfs...sad really

Yes SMG looks good, but I wonder if those graphics were the reason the enviroments were so small. I hope they come out with a new Mario game that looks as good, but has larger levels.DaBrainz

Needs some screens of the delicious fruit planets. After I played that I really had a craving for an apple.

Also I think it would be safe say Wii/360/PS3 are current gen now.

but i also really love R&C alot..... Tools of Destructions was great ( but its not"pure")

diffuculty: Mario > ratchet

platforming :ratchet > mario (ratchet,guns,jump,humour,he can talk not like "IM MARIO" or"YIPEEE!"

graphics,r&c=Mario (Metropolis is eye candy)

It does have mire games of that calibre. I recommend Zack & Wiki and Metroid Prime 3 although other people would recommend differently. They where both AAA games on IGN and 8.5 at Gamespot.

while i am interested in zack and wiki i really find it hard to like metroid prime's at all....my lil bro loves em....but despite my efforts i cant seem to like it at all

so far i own mario galaxy, loz:tp, SSBB, and i was gonna get mario kart till i played the crap at of it at my friends and now have no desire for it any more
