Yes the series took a nosedive when it went "Underground". NFS 6 wasn't very impressive either com to think of it, I think they peaked with Porsche Unleashed.
Really? i thought the underground games were the best of them all, and the peak was most wanted, oh wells, just me then:P

I really hated Underground because it wasn't NFS. NFS was about driving exotic cars through romantic landscapes. Underground was about racing tasteless tuned Japanese factory cars through a disco.
IMO it would be between Forza and Gran turismo i went with forza because it is more fresh in my mind right now. I am expecting great things out of gran turismo 5 though.
