im hoping COD4 is the best i think that game gets 9.0 for sure maybe 9.5 from GS. i was going to say COD4 or Halo 3 too but i just went with Halo 3. the safe choice.

gears of war came out in 06 though.

i think mass effect will be a high AAA or AAAA

i like the compilation category because i felt i had to give orange box something but couldnt think of a category where it could win.

and mario galaxy is really making me regret that i sold my wii.

:lol: bioshock had to have had the worst gunplay this year. And the RPG elements are FAR from special too.

dude half life 2 came out forever ago so it cant win best FPS again.

and you are seriously saying that Halo 3s campaign beats out the campaign for bioshock??

and ioshock ranked higher than halo 3 and most other critic web sites. and if you take away online and just talk about campaign which your doing it isnt even close.

wow very few people disliked or even disloved bioshock. none the less say the game was terrible. and if halo 3 is not even worth buying if you just want to beat the campaign.

and i know disloved isnt a word.

It is now. And I completly disloved Bioshock. So boring I couldn't get passed the first level. The combat system & scariness is much better in Condemed, the shooting is much better in Halo, the RPG element is much better in any RPG out now for 360. And I'd rather play a game that is really good at what it does than a game thats a mix of mediocre elements. The story was great though. Bioshock movie ftw?

Oh and I bought it just because I want to beat the campaign over, and over, and over, and over again. And then again. And on co-op to. And then maybe with scoring on. And then with skulls. And then again for good measure.

everybody is different i guess. ive never seen somebody love halo 3 just against the CPU and see somebody hate bioshock.

playing just against the computer.

halo 3 with out its multiplayer is a big peace of crap to me and probably to most people. and bioshock for sure is not a peace of crap game. good action, challenging, good story line, customizable guns and powers for your character, choose your own path. maybe you should rent it and get by the first level.

Best FPS this year is halo. Episode 2 is good but not as good.

Well enemy AI in Halo 3 is amazing(though the same cant be said for ally), and I think on heroic or legendary it's about the best you can get. And I probably should get past the first level, but still I'm used to playing rpg's like Kotor, and Bioshock can't near compare to that.

And Halo 3online is trash. There is about no skill at all, just about 5 shots rush in and a melee. It's about the same every time. And the real problem is the crap optimatch setting. I mean I just want to play, not find somebody with the same rank, skill level, number of game'splayed and gamer picture, I just want to effing play. Also even though I want to play, I don't want to play team rockets :evil:.

lol you do make good points though. im not too huge fanof a halo 3 online either. i still play gears of war way more than halo even though i do have some fun playing with friends on halo live. but i beat bioshock and it was one of the better games of the year IMO.

Pretty much the same situation i'm in. THough I must say gears got very trying in the last few months.

Online Multiplayer Shooter - does Haze have online? I dunno, not a big shooter fan, but Haze seems to be the best shooter besides Metroid Prime

Platformer - Uncharted:Drake's Fortune(PS3) Would this be considered a platformer?

Sports Game - don't know, don't care for sports

Racing - don't know, don't care for racers

I haven't played any of these games and probably won't be this year sicne I donèt have a PS3 or Wii, except for Disgaea I will be playing that

I didn't get much in terms of brand new games this year. Money was tight and so was time. I mostly played recycled games from past years or spent a lot of time on one. Namely Vegas and Oblivion.
