Best Single Player FPS EVER

For me, Easily Half life 2. then stalker bioshock or metroid prime then crysis.

I didnt include call of duty or halo in there because while they may be fun some times, they are (mostly call of duty) the least interactive fps games ever. They arent trying to be games, they are trying to be action movies, and they... kinda fail, at the being a good game bit (their multiplayer is great tho).

Stalker for me, personally. Excluding Clear Sky, I've had the most enjoyment out of that series.

Although I still have a soft spot for Half Life and Half Life 2: Episode 2.

Half-Life 2. Only game of those that I've actually played but it's still amazing. Character models, storytelling, artificial intelligence, the way the game incorporates the gravity gun into puzzles, and the game's physics made it so fresh.

Crysis since Metroid Prime is NOT an FPSSilenthps

I'm not even sure why Metroid Prime is even on the list TBH.

Goldeneye 64 obviously :D

Half Life 2 out of those. HaloCE overall.

Stalker. Only Cryostasis, Crysis and Metroid Prime 2 come close.

Easily HL2... Probably the best game I've ever played. Honourable mentions to Bioshock & Halo CE.

I really don't care. For me the SP of FPS has always been MP with linear progression and stupid enemies. And no, I haven't played many FPS campaigns.

I'm thinking COD 1 + 2 need to be on that list....

Metroid Prime isn't a FPS.

The first Halo campaign was EPIC, especially because of the co-op feature. Thought it was unbelievable at the time..

Eh... generally FPS game don't have a good single player.

But I found the TimeSplitters (2 & 3) campaigns to be quite good.

None of those games belong in the same sentance as metroid prime.

But, the rest are good games. They're just not... Metroid prime.

Well I would like to play more of crysis (waiting until I have a better GPU to beat it) and more of STALKER (same deal) before judging, but I am sure my answer will remain the same. Metroid Prime (and Metroid Prime 2 EXTREMELY close behind).

PS - STALKER is the only one I have hardly played. Beat HL2, Beat Prime, far into Bioshock, and a bit into Crysis.

The Operative: No One Lives Forever. I still haven't played a shooter with such a good direction and storyline.

There's something special about it. It's difficult to describe but I agree Rapture is my favorite in game environment ever. From the splicers to the Big Daddies to the fish swimming outside to the underwater neon lights. Everything about it is so special and I hope that sometime down the road we get to visit Rapture once again. I am however confident that Bioshock Infinite will be a fantastic game possible the best Bioshock yet, but it will be missing a certain feel.
