Best/Worst Video Game Endings (Spoilers)

This game, called Limbo of the Lost, which is so pitfully bad (released a few years ago) has only one redeeming part about it: It's horribly bad ending, the cutscenes look like they are made from the same CGI that powered Fallout 1 (1998) And the game has plagirised most games somehow.

kotor 1 and sotc definitely had some of the best endings

i loved fable 2 to death, but the ending was seriously just a wtf moment- it screamed "cutting corners".

MGS3 comes immediatly to my mind as one of the best endings out there... for the worse, AC. I mean, it's like they didn't even try to gave it a closure for that chapter. Runner up for worst GoW3 :x

Worst Assassin's Creed 2. Devs were definitely on some serious drugs whenever they came up with that ending.

KOTOR 2, amazing game but the ending was just so pitiful.

Best would probably be Halo: Reach. Bungie did a terrific job with how they handled it.

Worst is probably Crysis.

Borderlands, Halo 2 and 3, Bioshock and The Saboteur have horrible endings.

holy mother of miyamoto, that was brilliant, it really was! i've never seen that before, and i'd have thought it was some awful fan made piece of crap.. this was an game that got green lit and released to the public?!

Worst: The 'nah' ending of System Shock 2. Half-Life 2's was pretty 'meh.'

I could also be legit and say Red Dead Redemption, any of the GOOD Final Fantasy games, (aka not 8), and I dont know why alot of people didnt like MGS4's ending, I thought it was great. And after reading the L4D comic, the ending to the story is amazing.

Borderlands was outright not worth caring about the plot. I dont remember too many games that ended poorly, as I do not care to remember or play them if the plots that bad.

Well this is probaly not the worst ive played, but it came to mind right away

The ending in Red Steel 2 is kind of anti clamactic, and the part just before where shinjiro tries to get u angree misses the mark.

Voice actings pretty funny thought:P

Unless the game was very boring that most people here didn't finish it but, Far Cry 2 ending was the worst ending possible, just wow.

The worst Shenmue. While I loved the game the ending made it seem like I was missing a CD or something, it's litterally as if the game ended in the middle of the story. It's has to be the king of the "that's it!? you've got to be kidding me!" endings.

I liked Resistance 2's ending. Maybe because I don't like happy endings. Boom headshot. Roll the credits.

MGS4's ending just pissed me off. Just terrible and unnecessary.

Also, The Mass Effect 1 ending sequence is freaking epic,

but my favorite is still the ending to Starcraft 1.

Bioshock, HL2: Episode 2, Castle Crashers and Mass Effect 2 are my best.

The worst? Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising.

Red Dead Redemption had technically 2 endings, and both were absolutely amazing.

On the other hand, MW2 doesn't do CoD4's amazing (but abrupt) end justice since its basically a giant cliffhanger with you asking why the game ended halfway through the story? You still have the SPOILERS

upcoming invasion of Russia, the war criminal status of the main characters, the fact that the "truth" has not been divulged (since Shephard destroyed all the evidence), and the possibility of Makarov being alive. What the hell IW?

I liked the way Uncharted 2 ended.

RDR had a bad/sad ending :(

I didn't like the endings to Final Fantasy IX and Parasite Eve 2, mostly because the games left many things unresolved and I felt the latter portion of FFIX was silly. FFXIII, likewise, has a poor ending because of its use of nonsensical plot elements.

For good endings, I would say FFVII, FFVIII, FFX, Xenogears, Xenosaga Ep I, and Silent Hill 2.

Thinking about it now, if I'm going to include Xenosaga Ep I ... I might as well include FFVI. Actually, in some ways the the endings are similar ... Hm.
