@drrollinstein: biowares best games came before dragon age was a thing

Ill concede that point. I honestly had no clue they made so many high end games early on. Had to look it up just now.

Damn, you've missed out.

Baldur's Gate II and Star Wars KOTOR are two of the best games of all time.

Oh i know they exist. I actually own both KOTOR games and plan to play them soonish, hopefully if the new BC works for xbox. But i just never noticed bioware made them. That definitely raises my opinion of them a good amount.

Oh man, I envy you. Wish I could wipe my memory and play KOTOR from scratch :D

KOTOR 2 was developed by Obsidian Entertainment if I'm not mistaken.

Fallout 4 is a hell of a lot more quality than TC's threads.

Don't think it is really fair to lump Bungie in here. They really only do the same games over and over. They left Microsoft because they didn't want to make another Halo, then they went to Activision to make a different version of Halo.

Bioware has let me down the most recently. But since they put the A-Team (the former Mass Effect Team) on Anthem it looks awesome and very promising. They have done so much right in the past, hard to say Bioware is done.

Other 2 are just fine in my book. Maybe a game here than there that peaks my interests.

How again has Blizzard failed? Overwatch came out as a smash hit, shaking up the competitive multiplayer shooter market.. Diablo 3 did a complete U-turn from the disastrous launch into a good game, that has actually made it into the top 10 most sold games of all time last I checked.. Starcraft 2 is still considered widely one of the most popular competitive rts's to date.. World of Warcraft is still the biggest subscription based MMORPG with the release of one of (if not the) best expansions to date for a game that is 12 years old.. Hearthstone made card games mainstream with it's over night smash hit.. Hell even their least successful franchise, Heroes of the Storm, is gaining traction in the MOBA market in being a competent entry into the genre.

And how does Bungie fit in that list? Didn't Destiny go the way of Diablo 3 in having a horrible launch but becoming good and successful post launch with new content and patches?

And are we talking about the specific developer for beth or the overarching company? Because the overarching company owns developers who developed Doom, Wolfenstein, Dishonored, Prey etc etc..

I can see argument for Bioware who has lost it, but despite Destiny's luke-warm reception from the gaming community, it's an incredibly successful and now influential game (The Division and Anthem are both directly influenced by Destiny). Destiny 2 will most likely take everything people loved about Destiny and improve on it. That's not a bad thing. The Destiny formula is fun and has potential but was stuck trying to figure itself out as well as had some serious story issues that actively degraded the experience.

Blizzard, on the other hand, just launched the most successful new IP in the FPS market in the past 10 years. They also are coming off of what's probably the best expansion pack to WoW in years. They obviously bungled Diablo 3's launch but not only have fixed it up completely, they expanded on it in a lot of positive ways with the expansion pack and further patches. Diablo 3 is probably the finest isometric, action RPG on the market today because of it. Blizzard is kicking ass and taking names. In by no way have they lost it.

No it isn't. Path of Exile is about to crush them totally with a free new expansion that does away with the Normal, Nightmare, Hell type system and replace it with a second quest that changes the maps. Blizzard on the other hand is charging for a character class so late in its lifecycle for D3.

Diablo III sales are top heavy, with most coming around launch, and then you were forced to buy the expansion to have a good game. Overwatch alone did not shake up the competitive multiplayer shooter market, Battlefield 1 did so as well. And WoW needs to die. In quality FFXIV ARR is better.

FFXIV ARR is better at being a casual doll simulator with pretty graphics...

But sorry, its gameplay is far behind WoWs. (this coming from someone who plays FFXIV over WoW) ... its good fanservice, but a very limited mechanics MMORPG with pleanty of console-based flaws.

That actually isn't true, it only broke the top 10 when it sold into console arena, far past its original release.
