Releasing a bugged Fallout 3: GOTY edition for the PC, 360 and PS3. It's been 1 week since it released and no hints to a patch to fix all the freezes and bugs that plagues the game. I can't even play Operation: Anchorage without encoutner a freeze every 3 mins not to mention previous save files are incompatible.

So who do you think is the worst developer in the industry?

I have it on PC, and it gets some errors and closes the game which is what really pisses me off. Bethesda are not near the worst developers though.

Not even close. They used the same outdated Gamebryo engine for Morrowind, Oblivion, and Fallout 3. It's extremely buggy and does need a lot of fixes to work properly, but I found Fallout 3 to be the least of my worries. I barely crashed at all. Oblivion with the SI patch though had a gamebreaking bug that would render your save files useless. Thankfully they fixed it, and their community support for the PC versions of their games is fantastic. Releasing modding tools is a great way to keep your community alive and active.

If you bought the ps3 version, its most likley that it will be ''glictchier'' just like for bayoneta. The Top japanese game reviewers gave it a 10 out of 10 on the 360 version but a litle less on the ps3 one 9.4 Simply because of these issues.

I think its because most game developers work on a windows powerd program... im probably wrong , but you never know!

I agree that their games are horribly buggy, but just because you don't like it doesn't mean they're the worst in the industry.

Bugs are fixable, and take time to fix.

Activision is easily the worst developer in the industry... and I'd argue the worst ever.

I think technically they're a publisher and a developer, since Infinity Ward, Neversoft, etc. are fully owned by them.

Are you kidding?! Whoa, that kinda got me pissed off actually.... Really dude, you must be playing on the PS3 version of some ancient computer rig. My friend has it on PC, he has a really crappy PC too, by today's standards. He can hardly run Half-Life 2 at high settings. I literally sat there and watched him play Operation: Anchorage and it was just fine. I have the 360 version, and have never encountered a really annoying glitch, just corpses sometimes getting stuck in game geometry.

Same here. This was especially evident at the end of Operation: Anchorage where the main Outcast traitor (forgot his name) was killed and his body was just twisting around at the ankle and flying around the room making clanging noises. I had to shut the door to the weapon cache to keep him from knocking everything off the shelves and scattering them everywhere.

Yeah and I came back a few days later to get more supplies and his body was still clanging around and spinning. For the record I meant the one double crossing leader not the main Outcast leader.

I don't know why you're surprised. It is common knowledge that Bethesda coders are mostly cardboard cutouts, chimpanzees, and taffy apples.

Bethesda is definitely among my least favorites, right down there with Bioware. Their games are pretty boring, sure they have good graphics and a lot of gameplay content, but it all feels just a little "dry" if that makes sense.

I wouldn't call them the worst, infact their games really say the opposite.

Though I found both Oblivion and Fallout 3 to be buggy messes. The game engine they use has never been the best. I wish they would use something else.

Bethesda are far from the worse devs out there. They make very high quality games.

That said, it seems Bethesda are not the most technically gifted group of coders, as they tend to release products with quite a few bugs. They seem to tilt more to the development/gameplay/story side of game design then the root programming and coding side.

However, I think this problem has be resolved, as Zenimax Media has absobed ID Software, making Bethesda and ID brothers of sorts. ID and John Carmack are the freaking GODS of programming and coding. With help from ID, I expect future releases from Bethesda to be much, much better in terms of both graphics and overall stability.

foxhound_fox

Activision is just a publisher, aren't they... don't they just have numerous dev stuios under them?

Anyway... yeah bugs are fixable... when did Fallout3 launch? Yeah... I'd say they've had plenty of time to work out the bugs. There is no excuse for the bugs... however Fallout 3 even with the bugs is one heck of a great game, imo. It was slow starting, but once you start exploring the game really comes into its own... kinda sad that I finished the game b4 I could run it w/ all settings on VERY HIGH @ 60fps. Still even on high it was a pretty good looking game.
