I think a gaming PC and a PS3 is the best combo, but that's not the question, so to address the question, I think two consoles will have more games on it so it's probably better to get those two. But it kinda depends, if you're only into fps and rts games, a gaming PC would be the best place to go. It also has good rpg's, but you'll miss out on great games on 360 and PS3 such as halo, mgs4, uncharted etc

but thats not really all this gen, thats like counting xbox games and ps2, ps1,

I'd take 1 console and just bank the rest, i don't need anything else =D

Unlike consoles, PC doesn't technically have a starting point or stopping point, so obviously it from the start of PC gaming till now.

yah except most of those older games aren't always compatible without going out of the way to get emulators or drivers or find settings that are fully compatible. I'll take my consoles over pc's any day, and this is coming from a veteran pc gamer, i'm actually sick of it, the graphics arent so different now except for a few games and expensive hardware. I love how the communities are more integrated in teh consoles, the only thing i miss are mods, but most of the time they were horrible and buggy. so some custom maps are all i'm really loosing, and i'm getting a couch and something that just works.

Way out of your way? Not really. Hell, I can run the original Red Alert with simple of ease. You must not be much of veteran if you think what just said. Graphics truely looks amazing compared to some of the their console counterparts. I mean I first played Bioshock on the 360 (not to say it was bad or anything, I am not against console in any way. I game on them myself), but when I looked at it PC version, wow.. Hardware isn't that expensive, it been proven many many times. Community life in many of the PC titles are just superb. Team Fortress 2 for very good example. Mods are ya yes/no chance, but when you find them, some of them are just simply amazing. I assume PC aren't strapped down to the office, right? If you want that cozy couch, you can have it. Whatever you want to play on, its your decision obviously, I am just correcting some things.

Depends on the games you like. For some people the pc is a waste of time. It gets skipped on a lot of multiplats and a lot of the recent exclusives are heavily focused on rts and mmorpgs.

My friends however are all mmo addicts and would ebay any console that you gave them.

Last gen I would have taken the pc but this gen there are more console exclusives that interest me. With consoles now in HD the graphical difference isn't much. Funny thing too is that last gen pc gaming was far more expensive. This gen I have spent way more on console gaming while I haven't needed to upgrade my pc as much.

Considering when combined at full price at launch 360 and PS3 cost much as a low budget PC would you say its better having these two consoles rather than say a high budget PC?

If forced to make a choice, just a really beefed up PC. However I have a decent computer (it runs most games at an acceptable level...mostly), a Wii and a PS3. To me it's been the perfect set up this Gen and the only thing more I could want is a better PC.

PC/Wii, definitely.

PC gives you all the traditional gaming you can ever, ever, need and the backlog is unmatched. It can play anything and everything. You can set it up to output at a NATIVE 1080 or even more - Mass Effect running at native 1080 with full AA, Dynamic Lighting, and all the effect turned way up is just incomparable with the 360 version. No framerate issues. NO texture pop-in. In the case of the delayed PC version of ME, virtually the entire interface was redone to great advantage. It's clear that Bioware does its best work on the PC.

You don't like gaming on a desk? No problem. With an HDMi cable, you can set up your PC to output on an HDTV. In fact, I'm typing this on an HDTV from my couch. Wireless KBM for the win.

You don't like KBM controls? No problem. The PC can support the 360 controller, all the Logitech controller options, fighting pads, the highest and lowest budget steering wheels, Track IR - you name it, the PC does it. In fact, you can configure the Wii Remote to work with PC games. Yeah, that's pretty awesome.

Why add Wii? Well, the Wii is the most divergent from the PC in terms of title and genre coverage, and it's perfect for entertaining guests, which can be hard to do on a PC. It boots fast, has drop in/drop out play, and no reliability issues. Also, it gets you additional controllers and the sensor bar to play around with. And it's cheap.

My choice is my PC. I get far more games I enjoy on PC than on consoles.

Depends on preference. I prefer a PC, it has more library than 2 consoles.

The price at launch for each would have been $1000 and you can make a solid PC for that. But it is not practical to own a 360/PS3 I would got PS3/Wii or 360/Wii. I have PC/PS3Wii and had a 360, but RROD got old.

just for gaming two console but if you need a highend pc like me the pc is better. try rendering on a celeron. you'll be waiting all week if no 2 or 3 weeks. plus with most games on all systems these days there is very little point in owning multiple systems. but for a console level pc if you build it yourself you are only looking at $200-$400 depending on what you already have. $400 will buy a complete console killing pc.

no contest here, PS360 combo is better... you get to play many 360/PC titles along 360 exclusives while enjoying PS3's exclusives as well...

You'll always be missing PC exclusives but that always happens unless you have all systems... still though imo PS360 would be the better option compared to just owning a gaming PC..

PC/console combo works best if you can afford it.

It depends. If you're the type who must play all the exclusives, then owning two consoles is right for you. If you can live with just having multiplats and a few exclusive PC games (MMOs, a few shooters/action/adventure games, not to mention RTS) then you could survive with just a PC.
