I don't get why people stay on this dying bandwagon and keep saying SSFIV is a cash-in. People complaining about it obviously don't even play the game, and not only that they're not even paying attention to what the game is offering on top of the original game. And regarding the price, TC should've noticed that awakening and super sf4 carries the same price tag.

PSdual_wielder

I would like to add that people should compare these 3 expansions/glorified demo and whatever they wanna call it to games like the annual Maddens, RockBands, Guitar Heroes....etc and see which is more worth the money.

I guess people would complain. I mean go buy some more FPS or sports games please. The differences between SFIV and SSFIV is OVERWHELMING LARGE in comparison to yearly sports updates. Not to mention $20 cheaper.

The game is darn well worth $40 and if you skipped on SFIV you're crazy for not picking up Super unless you just don't like fighters

yeah, there's no option for 'both these games are fine'

so I'm not going to bother to vote.

I dunno, but i'm about to start boycotting DLC in its current state. Games are already over-priced, and they're just tricking us into paying more. Don't be deceived, especially with the games with the DLC already on the disc. They're just inventing a new way to charge you 80 or 100 dollars for a game instead of 60.

Sure, I paid 100 dollars for Final Fantasy 3 on the SNES. Its still the only game I could justify spending that much money on. Atleast all the content was available at launch, no need for patching and no hidden fees. I find it hard to believe that technology has regressed since the mid-90's, so whats the excuse?

Most importantly, I never felt like I was being conned. I'd pay an extra 40 bucks for THAT feeling again.

Wait til we start paying for things like updates....wait a minute...too late :(

Um.. SSF4 is more than worth the money with the amount of changes made to the game.

ODST is pretty awesome, and I think if it didn't have the Halo name on it ODST wouldn't be considered any more of a ripoff than any other short game. The problem w/ ODST is when you add in Halo 3. Basically when it comes down to it you're getting an expansion on the game w/ a few things added on. Don't get me wrong I like the ODST campaign waaaay better than Halo 3, but it's still using several of the same assets the same engine, and such. If you take Halo 3 into consideration the game is basically DLC... probably the best DLC ever, but DLC none the less.

I don't know much about the new SSF4, but I feel like they are ripping off the people who bought SF4 more than those buying SSF4, and from what I know about hardcore fighting games this is pretty normal.

I think a better comparison would have been SSF4 and RE5:Gold edition. Hmm, I dunno about those 2..

cows are really upset that Halo was declared the No1 most post popular gaming franchise by the guinness book of records, lol, get over it, i only paid 12.99 for ODST, so no it isn't the biggest rip-off, and did the TC forget you got the Reach beta when you bought it, that alone makes it more than worth the money, besides, cows paid 40 bucks for a Demo, at least ODST is the complete package, full campaign, full Halo 3 multiplayer experience, new multiplayer Mode called firefight and the halo reach beta, although i do get the impression this thread is just an excuse to bash Halo

Why should I get it as DLC when I could buy it on disk and go with it anywhere, give it anybody who likes to try it or finish it and do whatever I do with it?

I prefer paying for a disk based expansion rather than DLC with limited freedom.HAZE-Unit

Same here. Not to mention that you don't exactly own DLC of anything. I'd rather they delay a certain game to include everything on the disc.

Everyone knew SSFIV was coming. There will probably be another revision on top of this one.

um...neither is a rip off.

SSF4 has new characters *10 of them* new moves of existing characters, new online modes and a plathoria of other new things.

ODST was an amazing story and playing on legendary can last 7 hours + specially your first time through since your going through and doing or looking at every thing.

Firefight was awesome and gave me loads of fun and the achievements were great.

ODST is definitely not worth $60. SSF4 has a lot of stuff into it and it deserves to be sold even more than $40.

Btw I didn't feel cheated while playing ODST and SSF4 since both were completely satisfying full games.

Deffintly ODST. SSFIV is well worth the 40$,ODST on the other hand is not. The SP was short and Horde was boring.

ODST is sort-of almost kinda justifiable because it has a good, new campaign for a budget price. SSF4, on the other hand, makes me feel completely ripped off.

For SSF4 that would of been two big for DLC IMO. Also I don't feel cheated because I know I'll clock in 200 hes + playing SSF4. As for Halo 3 ODST I can't comment I never played it and know nothing about the game. Plus it isn't like SSF4 was a full price game.

Ten new characters, new rebalancing for ALL 25 existing characters new ultras, new challenge modes (new trials, car smashing, barrel smashing), new campaign, new online system. And of course new cutscenes, new CGI (not very important though)

I'd say this realldy does justify the $40 for the fans.

Its a demo, the other prologues were also glorified demos.

So what if it gets updates, is a demo with a few updates worth 40 quid?

no it's not a demo, demoes doesn't have over 80 cars, 5 tracks, online, split-screen and so on and forth :?

Oh if a demo has a lot of content it stops being a demo?

according to GS, they've said that SSF4 easily stands as its own game. and i think ODST stands as its own game, too.

SSF4 is a budget price in the UK, i dont see why you're complaining. Also, ODST offered more content than most releases. Way more than MW2, and that was $70.

I bought ODST on release for the same price as DA Awakening(disc version)and SSF4 was cheaper then DA on release, I buy online so I make a saving comparedto store prices. So really I got two full games each for the price of Bioware's expansion.

I'd like to take something off the poll... "Both could have have been sold as expansion packs like Dragon age Awakening". Awakening is $40, SSF4 is $40. What benefit is there to the consumer to have SSF4 as an expansion? I believe that would actually alienate consumers such as myself that didn't buy SF4.

Anyway, I'd say ODST is cheating gamers more. Not that what I played of it was necessarily bad, it seemed like a cool game.. it was just a budget-minded development but came in at full sticker price.

Firefight is amazing, however they should have sold the singleplayer and firefight as a separate disk for half price for those of us who already bought the Halo 3 maps. I was one of those people, which is why I didn't waste $60 on stuff I already had, but for people who didn't already own it, its not a rip off I don't think.

SSF4 is 40 bucks, and you get alot more games then the original. Its almost like a new game. So I really dont think thats a big deal. ODST however was not worth its asking price. Maybe if it was 40 like SSF4, then maybe.

I'm not the biggest fan of Street Fighter, but I've read enough on the subject to know that all the balancing, tweaks, and extra characters as DLC would have been very near impossible. Fundamental changes were made under the hood that demanded a separate release.

I mean they could have made a separate ODST version. One with ONLY ODST's single player and multiplayer for what? $35 at least? The campaign can be finished in 4 hours and FireFight, while fun, does not have matchmaking.

Same, Capcom at least had the decency of selling the game at a lower price.

I totally agree: 10 extra characters, more online enhancements, further balancing of the characters, all that is a lot of work and would have been a huge download. Its also worth 40 bucks, so yeah, SSF4 was worth coming out as a separate 40 buck disc....doesn't stop it from being inconvenient mind you.
