Its still not an official confromation from EA, but PC Gamer (who also revelead BF2142) ran a very short preview on it at their last issue...so yeah, it appears its actually real.

Unreal TOURNAMENT (get it?) has always had bad single player. Even then comparing it to Gears single player is silly. They're vastly different games. UT3 is twitch based run and gun that is pretty much for online where as Gears is about using cover effectively and I personally found the single player more enjoyable than the online.

What does engines have anything to do with it either? Engines are all very malleable entities.

all the battlefield games, have at least one, extreamly urban map in them...in BF1942 that was Berlin...and like Karkland, was deffinetly the most popular map...so I have no doubt their will be another extensivly urban map.

no amount of patches can fix the problems in BF: MC when the core gameplay is at fault....face it...without large multiplayer and conquest BF just isnt very fun.

BF3 Will have open multiplayer beta in the beginning of summer i read somewhere. And if they follow the same path halo did then it will probably come out later on like fall or something.

BF: MC was not a part...I think it actually ended up being relesed before the PC version...it had entirely different maps, and the gameplay was compeltly different....like BF2, it also used a new engine.
