Big Enough To Admit When I'm Wrong...3DS Has Bad Sound Problems.

Well i got my 3DS today, was playing Super Mario 3D Land for about 25 minutes and the sound wasn't even turned up half way, and it kept cutting out completley and then blasting back on as if it was turned all the way up, and it continued to do this no matter how many times i adjusted it, right up until i turned it off.

I googled the issue online and a few more people have the same problem as well, so, since i'm still in the market for a good portable, i guess i'll be returning the 3DS stuff tomorrow and picking up a Vita...just wish it had some more good games to get on it than it does.

Well I don't have any sound problems so..

I had a DS Lite with sound problems. Took it back and the other worked fine. Also- Me and my wife both had PSP's. W ewould upgrade them a lot and we had several of them with sound problems and burned pixels.I think it is just handhelds. Just have to check them very good to make sure they are fine before you can't take them back.

Also- I am hard on Nintendo because of the Wii and the Wii U but I have to give them credit. Their handhelds are awesome and it is where they do their best work. Just wanted to give them props.

take it back then see if I care but you would be better off just exchanging it for a different one. Even if this was a persitant problem it sounds like speaker problem. I have really nice over ear headphones I use for gaming, so i never use my handhelds speakers.

Sounds like the best option. Vita's a much better piece of hardware with far better games...but you'll be trolled here so come prepared with officially sanctioned SDC jelly pics. :cool:ispeakfact

I wouldn't put the Wii and PS3/Xbox together and the same with PC and consoles but Vita and 3DS are pretty much alike. It's like PS2 vs Xbox, not that far away.

I've never had any sound technical issues that I've noticed but Nintendo handhelds all do have terrible general audio sound. Hopefully they improved the sound on the 3DS XL since I'll be getting one when I have some extra money.FlamesOfGrey

looks like TC dicided to go through the trouble of exchanging it instead of downgrding to the viita

My brother's has no problems. You have heard of hardware having issues, right? It happens, componenets fail and need repairing an/or replacing. Welcome to the world of electronics TC. Enjoy your stay!

Well i decided to just swap out the 3DS XL for a replacement one, because i was thinking just because i was finally one of the unlucky ones to get a defective product doesn't mean they'll all be like that. So my new 3DS XL is charging now and i should be able to start setting it up and be playing it within the hour...so i'll just have to keep my fingers crossed and hope i got a good one this time...i'm not bailing out on Nintendo just yet.Slimmin360
