Replace Virtua Fighter with Bloody Roar :|kage_53Yea, I would say bloody roar also. But from that list, DoA.
Haha, to all those saying DOA go buttonmash online and see how far you get...jeez fanboys love to talk about things they know nothing about.Kritical_StrikeI have DoA 4 and with La Mariposa, button mashing results with many wins.

Fine... I'll change my answer so it doesn't say "DOA"
sense not what you make, begone!
smash is a button masher. all fighters are simpyl because you could win a match with button mashing in any fighting game at scrub level play, and the person making the comment probably is a scrub.
JPOBS
if you button mash in smash bros, you have no chance of winning - even against a scrub. its a useless tactic in SSB, it won't get you anywhere. - and chances are you'll end up jumping off a cliff.
its not like soul caliber, where button mashing can make you pull off combos out of nowhere to beat a newbie.
its quite different.
and i'd consider those dragon ball fighters to be the biggest button mashers ever - because while you are performing your power moves, it actually encourages you to button mash by showing a button on screen being repeatedly mashed!

yeah she's probably the best at button mashing, but still, if you're playing online with someone who knows how to counter then you're not going to last very long.

Button mashing CAN work on most fighters. With DOA you can't buttonmash and win against any moderately experienced player. That's in my experience, anyway.

It's not impossible and so many people mash on that game. I know this, because I've owned it since launch. The controls are ridiculously complex and no one wants to take the time to learn all that. So what happens? Mash, mash, mash. :P
I only consider DOA to be the definitive button masher, I mean sure other games for example Tekken does have button mashing characters but as a whole Tekken is not a button mashing game. Seriously DOA doesn't really acquire any skill I mean the game is just really easy to play and even easier to execute big moves. I'll be honest, when ever I play DOA it's not for the fighting it's for the fan service although I have to say I haven't played DOA for ages. DOA is great for getting newbies into the fighting game genre thus enabling them to notice & progress to better fighters like Tekken, SC, VF etc.Swift_Boss_A

not really. anyone competant enough to know how to jump wouldnt fall off a cliff.my poitn is that, strictly at a scrub level, its entirely possible to win by button mashing. A button masher could never win against someone who knows what they're doin, but its not impossible to button mash in the game.
im only talking about smash cuz i havent played the others.

button mashing online works...
maybe if you're playing with someone in grade-E, which is the lowest level. Pretty much anyone above that knows how to counter. Go set you're filter to SS players only and you'll see.

want to play doa4 aor doa2 ultimate to see if you can win with your button mashing skills? you cant win by just button mashing especially with the better players out there. there are some moves that are hard to perform along with the timing in doa.

Or set your filter to play with people over I.Q of 40. You'll lose by button mashing either way though.
Don't hate the game hate the player.
Games aren't button mashers - PEOPLE are button mashers. People who mash buttons are unskilled amateur level players who have (obviously) taken no time to learn how to play. A lot of people don't even block in fighting games because they are too busy mashing buttons.
However, I think the Soul Calibur series rewards button mashing the most.
This thread should really be about complexity in fighting systems, as that is a more debatable topic. Really though, any fighting/brawling game is fun if there is good competiton!

i guess it depends on what you define button mashing as
i remember when i first played soul caliber against a friend, i was getting owned at first because he owned the game (although he wasn't that good)
i then resorted to taking the control pad and repeatedly pressing completely random buttons
i then started pulling off these crazy combos and completely dominated every match
that sort of button mashing can't be done with smash bros
but yeah i guess to a certain degree, button mashing might be effective against a newbie in smash bros - although i'd be curious as to how a button masher could actual end up knocking an opponent off a stage with that tactic. usual you need to perform a smash attack to knock someone off at a beginner level, and those usually require some sort of strategic timing to pull off.

biggest- SSBM, there really no depth to this game so button mashing is common
least - DOA and VF, both games require split second timing and are very technical, DOA is all about timing and countering you opponents moves

i didn't even know DoA Ultimate had online. Well i'm just saying if you play DoA 4 (or ultimate if you can), and you set you're filter so that you're playing against people who really know how to play, then they can kick your ass with any character. I'm serious. My brother used to play it and thought he was so great because he could beat one of his friends because he was using the same character doing the same cheap moves. Then he started playing against other people and my record went bad really fast, and i was kinda mad at him.

You have to be playing in a completely different room to not notice the side of a map. I mean seriously... how can button mashing make you jump off of a cliff?

ssbb has alot of depth you dont just memorize combos u take each character, and stage into consideration. it looks unorganized but in my experience, its an art. i dont wavedash btw roll jump and dodge are enuff fern me, always thought wave dashing as a cheap trick imobiggest- SSBM, there really no depth to this game so button mashing is common
