It would have to be either Twilight Princess or Lair, for sure. Lair was hyped for along time to be the "graphics king" and AAA. A month or so before release, the fanboys tried to down-play the hype after the press was starting to bash Lair. It scored WAY under what hyped. Twilight Princess on the other hand was a good game, but it was hyped major and all the fanboys threatened to leave GameSpot and the System Wars forum was a complete mess. I still would have to go with Lair as it was a complete fail.

i think the TC means that it was by SW standards. it was hyped AAA and got AA. gotta love system wars, where a good game is considered a flop. You would have honestly had to have read the forums when TP didn't meet its expected scored. If you weren't here when it happened, then you can't understand.
That list is perfect, and Twilight Princess really did deserve AA after I played it, I don't understand why it's AAA on metacritic and gamerankings.
Agreed, especially with Twilight Princess. I mean c'mon, Nintendo. This Zelda is not as good as past ones. No wonder to some people, Star Fox Adventures was preferred.more like only to you and a couple of others. General consensus is that TP was a great game.
Wasn't TP the reason most of the sheep migrated from SW to neogaf? I would say that's a bigger flop than the rest. Too Human is kind of fun, and Lair is very fun once you learn the control scheme, even before they patched it. Spore was pretty fun too, until it got boring.
Halo Wars doesn't count. It's a spin off. Lair and Too Human were huge in terms of games that ended up sucking. TP was didn't manage to score it's hype but at least it didn't suck. I declare Lair the winner. So much riding on the PS3 to have a decent game after launch. Huge flop. Hyped six axis control that failed completely. Utter failure in just every way. HAZE too was a huge flop as well.
