Spore was awful. Halo 3 is just more of the same. Not bad for what it is. Assassin's Creed was a decent game. Fable isn't really a failure, I've come to expect Molyneux to overhype his game so ridiculously that you shouldn't even bother to listen to what he's mouthing off about. If you ignore his hype, most of the games are decent. I didn't even know there was a Matrix game. Never liked the movies.

Did you pick those randomly? Where's Lair? It was hyped AA or AAA (I wasn't here at the time, so I don't know which) and it got a 4.5. That's lower than Spore, even, which was only a discrepancy of two points (hyped as 10 and got an 8.0).
For that matter, what about Too Human? Hyped AA-AAA and scored 5.5.

Bioshock is the top-rated 360 game outside of TOB and the top-rated current gen PC game outside of TOB. it was an incredibly game, albeit introducing nothing new.

That matters not. This thread isn't about quality, it is about how much hype a game receives and how short it falls of that hype. BioShock, TP and Killzone were hyped so much, just rating them would have been a disappointment... let alone rating them poorly.

Yeah, I was, actually, but I'd much rather play a polished and well-designed "rehash" than a derivative, buggy misfire of a shooter.

Dude...why are Halo3 on that list. Its AAA everywhere and after 1.5 year its still on the tip live. If something i think Halo3 graphics are underhyped!

No way. TP was officially hyped AAA, not AAAA and it barely missed the consensus. Games like Lair, Haze, and Too Human were hyped even more and fell through the floor while the games you listed mostly had good or even great scores.
Did anyone actually play Diakatana - I've heard so much about how bad it is but haven't heard from anyone that's actually played it. It's failure is epic though - the biggest I've ever heard of.

Agreed on these games. Twilight Princess backlash was the most hilarious thing ever.
i thought halo 3 lived up to the hype and ended the series well. Spore is probably one of the biggest let downs in recent times. People say haze and too human, but i thought apart from the initial hype, gamers lost interest as launch approached.
