two thumbsticks are just as good as the pokemon franchise, maybe even better :o

Seriously, I'm still baffled by the lack of a second nub on the PSP. Those things can't be that pricey that it drove the costs down that much.
How would a second nub work on the NGP anyway? I imagined a second nub on both the 3000 and the Go and it (the second nub) looks uncomfortable to useI'm interested in the NGP, I don't think it beat the 3DS.
But it looks really really expensive.
No way it's gonna be less than £200.
What about it? As of now, the 3DS has more third party support than the NGP, so what's your point?while we still here
Biggest reason why 3DS will not be as big a success as NGP :
third party support

Oh I agree with that. Nothing can top Pocket Monsters and the first 3DS version willl sell like crazy and be hard to fine for the first few weeks.
The NGP interest me, but it will be hard to top the 3DS.
And BTW r12q1 the 3DS has more 3rd party support so your argument doesn't add up.
Selling 4 million units in a month isn't being a success? Okay. Before judging the unreleased NGP potential to be a big success, could be nice to talk about why 3DS is ot being that big success...

Unless you are just referring to how unstable it might be holding it, but I don't see how it would be any weirder than using any controller.

I'm referring how comfortable it is when you're using both nubsRight now, the 3DS has twice the number of third party devs supporting it than the NGP. And seriously, even if NGP has all the third party support, Nintendo franchises alone can carry of the 3DS on their shoulders. Exhibit A- Wii.while we still here

Pokemon represents Nintendo handhelds. As long as they've got Pokemon up there sleeves, there's nothing that can possibly beat them in the handheld market.i figured it would be there huge fanbase. not one game.

Depends on the price, CoD for the west, MH for Japan, with cross-platform home console and portable playability may serve as a selling point. Although Pokemon is definitely one of the best global killer apps.
[QUOTE="Ondoval"]Selling 4 million units in a month isn't being a success? Okay.Sell-in missed the 4 million target. Sell-through is actually in the region of 1 million units in Japan LTD (Media Create), 600k in the US to the end of April (NPD) and 450k for the first three weeks of European sales (Gfk-ChartTrack - UK, France, Germany, Spain). Before judging the unreleased NGP potential to be a big success, could be nice to talk about why 3DS is ot being that big success...

I agree it comes pretty close, I think it's the only thing that can keep Nintendo at bay. Jedward are advertising for Nintendo, thats enough for me to side with the NGP.SirDigby84Seriously? :| I am not a Jedward fan at all, but that is a stupid reason to not play a product.
Seriously? :| I am not a Jedward fan at all, but that is a stupid reason to not play a product. Well i wasn't interested in a DS with 3D anyway after seeing the specs on that NGP. Jedward advertising it just adds another reason to not buy it (also that black boyband are too and they're almost as annoying).[QUOTE="SirDigby84"]Jedward are advertising for Nintendo, thats enough for me to side with the NGP.nintendoboy16
You know why NGP could be as, or more successful than the 3DS? Its gonna have a CoD which looks to have real online and all that like the console versions. Western markets will eat that up.
I already have a Pokemon game, I don't need another seeing they are nothing more than rehashes with new monsters in them. So if I want to play Pokemon, I have my DS for that. When they release a Pokemon game for the 3DS, it will be the same games as the DS version only with 3D effects. It amazes how Nintendo can release the same game over and over again and get people to continue to buy the same game over and over again.
Well... Monster Hunter, with 2 analog sticks isn't going to be something to mess with in japan... I mean they are going to flood the streets upon the release of that game waiting in lines
Pokemon, Mario, and Mario Kart. NGP = DOA :P NGP still looks sweet though, the tech alone looks amazing.Pokemon
khoofia_pika
That would make NGP popular in Japan. Doesn't mean much for the west, niche Japanese games which many won't get localised is all it would mean.Well... If the new pokemon isn't everything we want though that might spell trouble.. While I love pokemon they really REALLY need to do something to really grab me this time around, their are no excuses now seeing as how its off the DS.. If it isn't in full polygonal 3D idc how good it is I am NOT buying it lol...

Monster Hunter might go exclusive to the 3DS, or at least multiplatform. Capcom has hinted at that too many times now. Sony needs a first party system seller, something that it can be assured will stay exclusive. Nintendo has Pokemon, Mario, Mario Kart, Animal Crossing, Dragon Quest... Sony has Monster Hunter, but again, that seems to be going to the 3DS too.At first I was like "well how many games DO they sell". And then I was like "shiat.."Pokemon

NGP will be a portable playstation just like the PSP
3DS will continue have interesting games that cater to the hand-held audience.
I don't think that generalization will hold true this time around. The NGP has enough interesting features- including the touchpad at the back- that it might get interesting games of its own. We'll see, I suppose.NGP will be a portable playstation just like the PSP

However, as far as unique and quirky handheld type games are concerned, the gyroscope, touchpad and touchscreen should actually help the NGP's case a lot.[QUOTE="charizard1605"]

But the 3DS will be getting Call of Duty too...To me they boths biggest advantages are....
3DS:Nintendo IPs, they are a beast on handhelds
NGP: online integration. NGP has full pledge PSN on the go. 3DS has nintendo online support...
NGP + COD(and online) in terms of sales could threaten even pokemon

[QUOTE="dercoo"]But the 3DS will be getting Call of Duty too... Also the people that want COD so much have it already on consoles, NGP will be just another platform. It won't threaten Pokemon at all which is on one platform and people will need that platform to play it. That would depend whether it is a separate game with unique features which I doubt it will be.To me they boths biggest advantages are....

Like I said NGPs online will crush 3DSs, and COD all about online.
edit: also control wise NGP >>>> 3DS at FPS

Moreover, Call of Duty is associated (for good or for bad) with the Xbox platform, as is evidenced by the fact that the Xbox 360 version is consistently the highest selling one for all Call of Duty games. The one system seller the PSP had was Monster Hunter. Again, at the risk of repeating myself, I say that that game is going multiplatform at the very least.
