I think that I still won't be buying it. Didn't like the first much, and even though this one looks better I have Aliens vs Predator, Bad Company 2 and my sisters birthday which I need money for. Sorry Bioshock 2.
Official Playstation Magazine review - 5/5 stars Much more effusive in its praise than the IGN reviews, OPM said the game (1) outdoes the original with more exciting combat sequences and (2) an improved endgame. They did knock it for having fewer charismatic characters than the first game, but they seemed to like the overall story quite a bit.
Combat looks better thanks to the drill, dual wielding weapons and plasmids, and better upgrades for plasmids. Now if only they will give us ps3 owners the opportunity to change controls bc R2/L2 to fire=fail. The ds3 is set up differently than 360 controller. R1/L1 should be used
But this is a prequel, so I don't get your point, man :|

It's not a prequel. Only the MP takes places before Bio1 and 2, BROSKIES!!!!!! :| This game is a sequal. It takes place 10 years after the first. It's a sequel because it takes place after Bioshock 1 but has aspects of a prequel like the first big daddy and first lil sis combo

Quiet you! I'm trying to convince myself Bioshock 2 will suck so I don't spend all my money on games! Bad Company 2 is going to suck too. FFXIII as well. *Puts fingers in ears shouting "LA LA LA LA" whilst clutching wallet*
I just watched the intro to the game on youtube. Made me so hyped up for it. I wanted no spoilers. But then, while browsing a forum, my eye caught a picture... a thumbnail of ( I believe ) the end of the game. I cried on the inside after my mind put together the pieces against my will. :cry:
Only two more days to go... I can't wait to walk around Rapture knowing there isn't much out there that can possibly stand up to me. I really hope you can glide across the floor and pierce people with your drill though. So far, I haven't seen any video that confirms that just yet. That was one of Big Daddy's best attacks in the first Bioshock. The controller totally jumped out of my hand the first time he did it--I was a little scared to continue fighting it initially. = )

You can definitely drill the hell out of splicers. Not sure if you can actually impale them or anything though. We'll just have to see...
