Bioshock 2 Reviews Are Out!

The first BioShock was released early at Toys R Us, and I read spoilers in GGD before I realized a lot of people actually were playing the game early -- and had played it all night, sometimes in teams, just to post spoilers. When you played the game, the spoilers were hilariously confused, but some of it was accurate.

I loved the game, but still...

That was a game not to spoil.

I really liked the first, but i don't have any desire to play the second. I don't know why...Revan_911

Me too. Bioshock 1 is in my top 5 favorites this gen, but I don't like the 2nd at all.

Yeah I just about read some spoilers but I saw one word and stopped and cleared my head lol I am not risking it

I already pre-ordered it on steam so I could get a deal on it. Hope it's as good as they say.

If the second one is even close to as much fun as the first one then it's well worth the $60. I'm getting mine at 12:01 tonight, and I've already taken off work tomorrow. I don't expect to get any sleep until Wednesday at the earliest. :)

Anyway, im playing the 360 version now, its freaking awesome. Im only about 15 minutes into the game and its already gave me goosebumps :P

But yeah, the 360 version I think did look slightly better, but I was talking about problems with its framerate. The 360 version had some serious freezing troubles, and framerate was pretty unstable. PS3 version ran smoothly.

Couldnt get into the first one so will be skipping the second.

nothing conclusive for the pc yet. a 90% from pc gamer means nothing to me after they rated far cry 2 94%. ill wait for the user reviews for this, despite loving the first im strangely unexcited about the sequel

I'm after playing about 4 hours of it so far and while it is a good game, it seems to be more action orientated than suspenseful.

The first game had me wandering around hallways worrying that there were some enemies around the corner. But this one is more of a all guns blazing kinda game.

It looks like an above average shooter that wasn't needed. The first game had a reason for being made, it was meant to show and teach a philosophy, a theme. After watching the gametrailers review I am 100% sure that this is just a cash in on the first games success. It didn't NEED a sequel (prequel actually). I am a huge fan of the original and i pre-ordered the special edition with the big daddy figurine, but this game just seems so pointless.

I feel that the only reason for making another game in the series is to show the events that lead TO the destruction of rapture. We pretty much know how it happens by playing the first game, but making some kind of open world RPG could really make it more fleshed out. I'd also really like to explore and live in Rapture before it fell, to better see what it was like. But even that isn't really needed.

I will probably get the game when it is $5-10 on Steam.

As of this time the avarage score is 88 on metacritic for the 360 version.

i got bioshock a week before it actually came out, and i didnt have any problems with freezing or framerates. i think it slowed down once or twice when a lot was going on, and that was it.

Maybe an indication that the first one was slightly overrated?
