I would like to know whether you guys think Bioshock will be either AA or AAA.
Firstly, state whether you're a hermit, lemming, cow or sheep, then state your prediction, as well as your reasoning. I just want to know if I see a pattern emerging with Bioshock's prediction.
Anyway, I'll start first:
Hermit/Lemming (although leaning more towards hermit, without the arrogance).
AAA
Why: The story is very intriguing. It's quite original, and I can see it going places game haven't gone previously. Secondly, the setting. The city of Rapture is underwater, and water is leaking in from everywhere, creating a claustrophobic effect. And the water effects are some of the best ever seen (a couple of developers spent a whole year doing solely doing water effects and physics). The place is somewhat deserted, the lighting marginal, which makes the whole place downright foreboding. Last but not certainly not least, the dynamic AI. Anyone who's seen the 15 Minute Developer Video would not dispute that this AI has some fantastic potential (something that Crysis still needs to figure out).
Seriously, I'm a huge Halo fanboy, and this game makes Halo 3 look like just another FPS. Sorry hermits, but Crysis ain't gonna take the FPS genre to new heights - this baby is.
P.S It may appear I'm looking for a hermit pattern, but that's not it ;)
Hermit here. I'll say its got a good chance of AAA, but I'm not 100% convinced. I'm still worried that it could try a bit too hard to appeal to the mainstream, and end up pulling a Deus Ex.

The game is about the singleplayer, its more of a survival/horror RPG that is in first person rather than a multiplayer game. And anyways, if you read the previews for Bioshock, the game has extremely customizable weapons, which means if they did tack on multiplayer, the weapons will probably be unbalanced. The game is more of a Final Fantasy/Resident Evil than it is a Halo/Gears of War.
I'm pretty much a manticore but I don't have a PS3 yet because of the price. I will get one though.
I'm saying AAA for both versions, as the 360 version is bound to be pretty much the same.
It looks fantastic, I'm sure it will be a long, atmospheric and horrific adventure...the AI is like nothing I have ever seen. The fact that you can probably get through the whole single-player story without killing more than a few enemies is very cool--achievement?
Anyway, this looks like it could be the next Metroid Prime.  Which is a good thing because Metroid Prime is one of the best games ever made, but a bad thing for me because these lonely atmospheric games where you are by yourself with no one else around really make me depressed sometimes...don't know why. Shadow of the Colossus, MP...heck even Mario 64 *thinks of the Jolly Roger Bay music*Â

AAA - since there will be no multiplayer I really hope the SP campaign is very long, but I don't know since it is underwater the world will only be so big, but hopefully it will be huge.

I'll say AAA on both. This game looks absolutely amazing, and considering how much GS has been praising it, it looks to take very high score when its released.
it looks to be an AAA title with out a doubt. Hopefully it gets the critical and finacial success it looks to deserve, rather than be a sleeper hit (in a way) that SS2 was.

I don't really understand this. Did lack of multiplayer hurt Mario, MGS, Zelda, System Shock? Just because it's first person does not mean the game automatically has to include multiplayer for it to be a success. Just look at Deus Ex and System Shock for proof of that...even the original Half Life didn't need multiplayer for it to be one of the best games of all time.
Some games need multiplayer, and require it to prolong their lifespans, and others don't. I believe Bioshock is the latter.
If it does get AA it's unfortunate that Cows and Sheep will be like : "LMAO itz a Fl0p hahahahaaa" when it will still be a very good game

Yeah like lemmings don't do that to the cows and sheep when their games flop. I pretty sure if Metroid Prime 3 or MGS 4 flops you lemmings will be "LMAO itz a FlOp hahahahaaa".
System Shock 2 is one of my favorite games... ever. Ditto with Deus Ex.
So we know the gameplay must be up there. I think of the setting (Rapture!) to be much more intriguing than SS2, and depending on tastes, above Deus Ex, too.

high AA I think. Has a shot at AAA. This is baised solely on what ive seen and read abouit the game. I have never play system shock series, but have also read about it.

How can you have over 13,000 posts and yet still be so bias against GS? If a game has guns and no mp GS will flop it??? . . .RE4 had guns. Shouldn't they have flopped it?
