Agreed with both of you. Hell, the main reason I want this game is because it is a purely single player experience, which is actually the heart and soul of every game in first place. It is refreshing to know that there are developers out there who still want to focus on making strong single player driven games like this, as that is what gaming is all about for gamers like me.

So, were you really serious? I still can't tell... I mean, I've seen my share of asinine game comparisons on this site, but I think this one takes the cake.

Leave it to the OP, who obviously never played System Shock to make some of the worst arguments against Bioshock. If you've played Irrational's (Looking Glass Studios) titles from years past, you wouldn't being saying such nonsense. Why does a game need to have multiplayer? that's nonsense, just look at most games that add multi that feels tacked on. If a game isn't built from the ground up for muli, like Quake Wars UT3 or CSS, than I would rather have the devs spending time on the single player, hands down. Farcry(PC) is the perfect example. Best single player game in years, but tacked on multiplayer.

I would say you're probably the only person with that opinion. It's widely accepted that Farcry had a superior single player, and lackluster multiplayer(We're talking the best version of the game, the PC version). With development costs at staggering numbers, companies only have so much time to devote, and since resources are valuable, I would rather man hours be spent on delivering the best possible single player experience available.

I thought the Bioshock demo was great, and I think it'll score a 9.5. Not every game has to have multiplayer to be good. Look at MP. Helluva series, but it never had online.

People use that as a measure of respect. The higher the level, the more respected. Many people are more likely to take a level 20's word than a level 5's word.

Because the games AREN'T ANYTHING alike, you just picked a couple shots with the same basic color schemes, it doesn't make any sense.

Dark Messiah was bad, its story was poor... just hobbled together as a poor segawa yo the game's bread and butter (wizardry type Elder SCrolls combat)and it plays NOTHING alike. It's more like Oblivion, with sword and staff combat, and magic casting, etc.

BioShock is a moody stroy driven FPS in the same vein as System Shock 2 set 5 decades ago using bio modifaction plasmids and various guns.... st underneath the sea.

I mean, honestly maa, they are NOTHING alike apart from the perspective. Dumbest topic ever.

Despite everyone's adamance against the idea, the OP is correct. Bioshock isn't going to employ anything that wasn't already there in some other incarnation. It is just another FPS (despite Levine's words to the contrary). However, that alone doesn't mean it's a bad FPS. modern gamers have this kooky idea that generic games can't be good games.

My only problem with Bioshock is the direction the story is going in.
